It's an absolute shame and disgrace, really.
Excuse my ignorance, but I am genuinely curious, if there are so many shady so-called Porsche specialists in town, assuming those who currently own Porsches here right now, or those who have in the past owned Porsches, why not just spend the (again, assuming) extra dough that the Porsche dealership would charge for the same maintenance and repair? I know if I had a Porsche I sure as well wouldn't let anyone but the Porsche techs touch my car, unless that's not the case?

I select shops / techs based on who I feel is the most knowledgeable / skilled about my model, understands my goals and, most importantly, who I trust. Research is key.

At the dealer, do you have the opportunity to get to know the tech assigned to work on your car? I get that they’re all factory trained (hopefully) but is that Fahrvergnügen? FWIW, there are some indie techs with factory training.

Given my experience with dealers, a Porsche dealership is going to be even worse when it comes to telling you to replace parts that are actually still fine.

dealing with the only two service advisors at MCL Porsche back 3-4 years ago was the biggest pain in the ass.. some people here might know which two idiots I am referring to. I don't know about the current dealer.

All this being said, Chris who's at the service counter at Weissach is awesome. Been super helpful anytime I have to order parts.

No idea on the SA's or sales guys however.

That Galant brings back memories. My dad had a 91 Eagle 2000 GTX manual. Great seats in that car for touring. He also had a 91 Eagle Talon Tsi turbo. Back then I wanted a VR4 badly. There used to be a couple around Victoria
