price seem to be on the cheaper side than other 3rd gens which seem to be around 10-13k

flagella 04-03-2016 12:21 PM

that Type S was posted in the previous page, for which apparently most people didn't find it to be a good deal lol

XplicitLuder 04-03-2016 12:31 PM

Would love to put collector plates on that and have it for second vehicle but I'm sure maintenance bills would be atrocious

knight604 04-03-2016 01:54 PM

its only atrocious if its the e60 HUE

68style 04-03-2016 03:05 PM

Proper Rebuild of an S38 motor is easily $10,000... Not a cheap car to maintain... And I would think this example is probably close to needing one.

Dude writes his ad like he's selling a 2005 Toyota Corolla. I'm pretty sure this is the same e34 from dt last summer. Original owner who didn't do any work and car needs serious restorative mechanical work

"Motor runs well and never let me down"

In other words, "it's running good and I've never done any engine work aside from plugs and oil, so it'll probably need expensive work ASAP which is why I'm selling".

I have admit though this car looks really nice other than a couple panel gaps.

Go make an offer with this article:
Meet Vlad, The Web's Most Infamous BMW Owner

Great read btw.

Don't get me wrong, I like it and don't think it's such a bad deal especially if it's maintained well. I'd drive that generation TL any day over other ones.

The previous owner posted this up last year. Had lots of mods, most of which were from Bentley. New owner only lists one Bentley mod.

The thread on VWVortex listed it at $15500 as of Dec 2014.

New owner trying to make some $$$ it seems

Obviously there's a reason it has come down. Wasn't Matty the POS who kept trying to sell that rebuilt s2k as clean? Surprises me fktard like this guy is still working.

underscore 04-03-2016 09:57 PM

I don't even want to imagine the maintenance costs on a German W12-powered car.

At first glance it's pretty ugly, but largely because the wheel setup is terrible. I feel like if it had some decent deep offset wheels to fit the widebody fenders it might look alright, current wheels are horrendous. Change the headlights back too. Not many people spend money on a carbon fibre body kit.

some super fat work mesiters S1's would do the trick...

some bigger AP racing brakes...

Roll bar.

Voltex swan neck wing.

single turbo conversion....

then should be a nice poser car. :drunk:

flagella 04-04-2016 04:57 AM

And then an Asian mom in her SUV backs into your car and destroys the cf body.

thumper 04-04-2016 07:09 AM

the ad says power mods without specifics, but the engine bay looks very stock?

i was also thinking those where jdm side markers on the front fenders... and then i realized it's just those stick on reflectors they slap on to pass gov't inspection

i see the FnF graphics on one side...

http://images.craigslist.org/00909_4...VA_600x450.jpg

but nothing on the other side...

http://images.craigslist.org/00s0s_b...hr_600x450.jpg

can't figure out if they went halfway on putting it on or taking it off
