Spoiler!

Congrats!

By sheer coincidence, this thread is now EXACTLY 2 years old

I kind of wanted to update the OP to list members who actually bought cars through this thread. With well over 1 million views, I'm genuinely curious.

I brought something from this thread :)

Thanks! Funny thing was I talked to Matty about buying your car the other day, but I decided to keep a lower budget for a car to take to The Ridge in May. M235i will be the daily (can't track, company lease) until the end of summer then the E36 takes over :)

Also, big thanks to Traum and this thread (GS8!) otherwise I would not have found out about the car (posted in the business/commercial section on Craigslist)

Bought 01-1233 Integra Type R. Sumazn posted it up as he saw it for sale a number of times on NWP Facebook page. Discovered it was my old neighbour who lived a block from me.

reduced porsche 996 turned into 997

Is there something wrong with this 911? Seems a bit suspicious with all the body panel changes and paint. Steering wheel is changed out too, maybe it's been in an accident and he didn't want to get a new airbag?

tofu1413 04-24-2016 09:28 PM

maybe it was that same 996 that was for sale.... and the next ad later, it got into a front end accident.

Glad to see the E36 found itself a nice good home. And I'm even happier to see that it'll spend some time at a playground where it can stretch its legs!

Congrats on the purchase!

Now there's one car that I can vouch for when it says lady driven, right beside my place and he drives a 996. Great car and always clean and washed, we'll taken care of example from the looks of it passing by everyday. That's a great price too, do want

77civic1200 04-25-2016 07:14 AM

I never understand why people put "lady driven" as a selling point. I don't consider that a good thing

thumper 04-25-2016 07:23 AM

Depends. My parents bought a used "lady driven" car once. She admitted to not being a car person, but she was always religious with the dealer servicing and if something felt wrong she always took it in to be sure it was okay because she was afraid her ignorance would cost her, and for a used car it was perfect.

On the flipside, I looked at a "lady driven" car awhile back with a friend. 2 years old, 11k kms, price was a steal. What I saw was a different story. The car never had been back to the dealership for service (not even an oil change) since she bought it new. Didn't think it was necessary she said, because "it ran fine", and it was like the first time she noticed the "service required" dash light when it was pointed it out to her. Two badly curb rashed alloy wheels with a chunk of sidewall missing out of one tire. All four corners of the car had bumper rash because it was clear she couldn't park worth a damn. Had this little yappy lap dog tha had pissed on and scratched everything up... I could go on.
