IIRC CR's only came in white, blue, yellow and black, never red. and Im 100% sure all CR's came with a CR badge right under the s2000 emblem.

1999 Mazda Miata Navy Blue & Tan Soft Top - 5 Speed Manual Sports Car

Drove this a few weeks ago while I was looking for a Miata (found one) and it's ideal for anyone looking to do a build. Body is in good shape, well taken care of. Needs a brake bleed I think (brake was a bit soft) and has a small rip in the driver's seat but other than that it's ready to go. I didn't get it b/c having AC was a requirement and it's $2k to get it added.

Owner was willing to sell it to me for $6500 a few weeks back, I'm sure you can get him to $6K.

Thanks, I had contacted the seller about that car recently. No AC is tough, saves me a trip. Thanks for the heads up.

Spoiler!

It's not a CR. He doesn't even say it's a CR. It's an AP2 with a wing spoiler, side strakes, AP2 lip spoiler and a hard top. It's fairly low mileage, I think he'll eventually sell it for close to his asking price.

Not local but cheapest 1M forsale ever?

In the higher KM 111.xxx miles > 178.xxx km
Priced at 30k USD > 38K CAD
Location Cali

FS: 2011 BMW 1-Series M Coupe (High Mileage/Low Price O.B.O.)

pics

Imagine the dollar was on par this would be a super sweet buy even with high km

that 1M is not a good deal at all, $30K usd is approx. $39K Cdn + new motor =$15k = $54K. But you still have a 1M with almost 200k Kms. A low mileage one is high $50K cdn......

^ where does it say it needs a new motor? its a fair price given the mileage, but obviously not great when you factor in the exchange rate and extra 6.1% duty as well as transportation costs

Seriously? There's no magic number where a motor suddenly becomes "not fine"

Yeah it IS super high km for that car, but there's absolutely no reason that motor can't be in fantastic condition.

I would much rather have an enthusiast owned 1M with 180,000km that was meticulously maintained with all the right parts and fluids, warmed up properly before going full throttle etc etc, than a 1M with 60,000km that had its oil changed occasionally at Mr lube with garbage oil, WOT 10 seconds after cold starts, and generally shit on.

^ you might be right, but I sure as hell wouldn't gamble spending $40K cdn for a car with that many kms. Have you heard about all the motor issues with 335i guys with less than 100k kms? this is a very similar motor. So if you are a gambling man, go for it! I am not though.....and btw, how do you know it was maintained properly?

You're missing the entire point. I do not know it's well maintained but as others have pointed out saying it needs a motor makes no sense.

As I said, i'm sure people are having lots of issues, but it doesn't mean that this is having issues solely because it's high km.

I think you are missing the point, as a rule of thumb how many turbo motors make it pass 200k kms without a rebuild?

As a rule of thumb?

Roughly equivalent to the number of naturally aspirated engines that make it passed 200k kms without a rebuild.

Spoiler!

Even if the 1M doesn't need a motor; with the exchange rate and shipping a local Vancouver buyer would be into it for what it's worth based on the high mileage and ex-USA status anyway. From a collector standpoint it's not really a good buy. From a builders standpoint, there might be an opportunity.

Obviously, generalizations have exceptions. I had 190K on my Subaru Legacy Spec. B with no issues. On the other hand, BMW 335 turbo issues are also well documented.

As for the car, it's not really a good buy. Even if you were a builder, why wouldn't you buy a lower mileage 1 series for 1/2 the price and just build it up?

It's not about being turbo or N/A, it's about it being a modern BMW.
