Plus, it was poorly flashed sometime in its life. PO couldn't hook up the Durametric to get the DME report and reported having the car just die on I5 cruising at 80 mph. Solid buy.

120k car dying on the I5. That sounds like a recipe for a heart attack for me.

As much as I hate to say it, because I loved my STI and miss it everyday, I feel like a lot of '15+ STI's will be hitting the market at hits once cars like the RS start hitting the roads. I love Subaru and the STI, amazing machine, but you've got to get with the times and update. At the very least they should have brought over the JDM 2 ltr motor

I'm really liking the New WRX and all of its features really makes me want to jump on one..

With the new Impreza already announced (in concept car form), I don't see any reason why Subaru would update the engine in this generation of the STI. With the ever tightening emissions standards though, it would make no sense for them to keep the EJ25 in the next car.

The new chassis and interior is much nicer than the old one, even though I wish we got the hatch.
I can't believe how slowly this car depreciates. STI Sport is $41K brand new. I think the low depreciation is reason to buy it alone over the WRX.

Hey guys, brand new member (although longer time guest) here.
Looking for a first car right now and was hoping you guys would be able to help me out.
I have been looking at a couple different types of cars (subarus/preludes/integras/golfs) during my hunt but I have not had much luck.
I live in the Lower Mainland area in BC and my budget is about 4.5k. Any help is appreciated!
edit: for example here are two links to cars that I'm intersted in right now, they are both Subaru Impreza 2.5RS's https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/cto/5622522012.html http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/bnc/cto/5626599559.html

the one you posted above dosen't talk much about this, but the other one you posted 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS - RARE lists all the major mechanical stuff that should be done. the wheel bearings are something that should be also checked (edit: it says the rears are done, but still consider the front ones suspect). i remember my mom's old legacy having the same fuel sensor problem but it didn't throw a code. if you choose to go with this one you need to get a mechanic to look at it as part of your pre-inspection and get a quote. budget to get the rust dealt with as well. if you don't care about a respray to match, at least do something to make it stop like POR-15 because unchecked it spreads like cancer.
