I think Craigslist took off the price on the title

not sure if the uninstalled timing belt is a red flag...

1992 Acura Integra GSR needs timing belt. Make an offer - $3250 (Langley) https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/cto/5682331645.html

It's a red flag that the guy went through the trouble of taking the parts off and didn't take another 1-2 hours to put it back together, while the car was already in the air and tools were out. Plus, no one wants to do a job that's halfway done and have no real way of knowing if the motor's any good.

IMO, the price doesn't reflect the risk.

thumper 07-21-2016 12:20 PM

lengthy description but no price... but says it was done by racing greed so not a backyard special:

Having done my fair share of Honda timing belt replacement
Its very very fishy why said owner wouldn't finish the job.

@fliptuner hits it on the nail

2005 RSX Type S -- $4900

2005 Acura RSX type S

I see a mismatched front fender with rust, and rear quarter panel rust on both sides. But if the rest of the car checks out, the price could be right.

(With all that rust and no front plate, it makes me wonder if it is an AB or some other out of province car though...)

local cars dont rust out like that in 10 years. its definitely from out of town.

considering the mileage and rust not much of a deal. ive seen them under 7k for local non rusty car with lower mileage

I don't recognize this one, but there used to be a couple of these that would run between high 10's and 11's at Mission. They were stupid fast for being old vans. Pretty sure those ones were AWD though, not a RWD model.

jasonturbo 07-21-2016 07:05 PM

That GS-R might not be a bad deal, tell the owner you want to slip a new belt on and do a compression test, even if all goes well you can probably still low ball him lol

but then you're basically doing the work for him if it doesn't work out, and then run the risk of the blame game if something happens :(

It isn't the best, but I don't see how it's cringe worthy.
