are there any 3rd party insurers who offer a decent warranty for rebuilt cars?

Apparently heard through a guy who worked at Nanaimo Ford, (where it was fixed), someone tried to max it out on the hwy, blew the motor then ended up in a ditch upon slowing down. So a lot of the cost was a motor replacement.... Allegedly
Might depend on what the guy did, don't a lot of high-end cars have rev loggers and stuff in them now? If the guy messed up and went to 3rd instead of 5th or something I'm thinking they wouldn't cover it.

If you need to have a warranty protecting it, you probably shouldn't buy it.

For Sale is a 1990 Honda CRX SI Black exterior. The car is good shape for it's year. 4 disc brakes and all service has been completed. Engine was rebuilt recently which includes new timing belt and water pump. Full service records available for this car from new (1990) to present (2016).
There is absolutely no rust on the vehicle which is an asset and could immediately shine in any import car club. In 2008, a makeover was performed at a bodyshop and panels with rust were cut and removed out rather then just painting over a rusted area.I have photo's to show. The engine was recently rebuilt (July 2016) and has so far travelled about 300 kilometres.
*Ungo car alarm with 2 remotes.
* COLLECTOR STATUS PLATES can be registered as this is now 26yrs and it's bone stock
Tempted if the rust issues have been taken care of.
Kind of a good buy.. kind of not. Depends on condition and whether or not it's seen winter etc. The quarter panel repair will forever hinder the value + with these cars being so easily imported from Europe and Japan there really isn't much reason to hype the super rare 1994 CDM spec.
Having said all that.. I was still tempted to take a peek.

Wow, its cheap, but that quarter panel damage is pretty major. IIRC a friend checked out this car a long while back. I'd still say a good buy. I'd be ready to put 5-8k into it right away for that body repair and what I bet is deferred maintenance from an owner that would sell a car with that kind of damage.
