This is a friend's car:

2011 Mazda 3 GS White 47000 KM

Mileage is low, and the condition is good. The $7500 accident history honestly doesn't scare me. As he has described, none of the items that were damaged would affect the vehicle's long term reliability all that much.

320icar 09-26-2016 05:53 AM

Way too much for an s52 car

westopher 09-26-2016 08:00 AM

While I agree with you 100%, good luck finding one cheaper. Remember this is 2016 where 200k Acura integra GSRs are "collector cars."
The market is fucked.

underscore 09-26-2016 08:27 AM

Right now, if it's a "collectable" car it'll fetch a stupidly high price, but if it hasn't got some dipshit fanboys jerking off to it everytime it's parked outside you can't get fuck all for it. Maybe my ads are shit but I can't get any sort of interest in either of the vehicles I'm selling right now, and I don't think my prices are unreasonable.

The Producer 09-26-2016 08:28 AM

If I asked half of that for my E36 I'd be laughed out of this thread - shoes have gone crazy. S52's are getting very close to Z4 coupe prices now.

Here's the best spot to track the value of these cars.

Sale Listings || M Coupe Buyers Guide

There are still deals to be had down south, even with the exchange if you're just looking for a driver.

I spoke to 3 owners of S52 shoes on the weekend at m car day - none would sell, all think they're sitting on a gold mine.

jasonturbo 09-26-2016 08:33 AM

Everyone thinks they are sitting on a gold mine these days, this will pass.

vitaminG 09-26-2016 04:29 PM

i think id rather buy a cayman s for that kind of money

tofu1413 09-27-2016 02:19 PM

2000 Forester S-tb type C 5spd

kinda cool. 5MT forester but not sure if good idea to put a sticker on a headlight lens............

320icar 09-27-2016 02:26 PM

Stickers on headlight, slammed, RHD, bent license plate, rep wheels, wink mirror, a diffuser on a forested??

I'd never touch a car this owner has modded

RHD is not for me either.

But I see this car around a lot. I think the guy works at the oil change place on 201st in north langley. It's a really cool looking car in person. But again, it's RHD.....

i know the fan boy factor has a lot to do in driving up the prices.. but for older cars like the 993's etc. i think prices are where they are, and will only go up as the vehicles become rarer and rarer..

i've had this debate a few time with people who "collect" things, mostly intangible things compared to vehicles, but nonetheless, things where "rarity" comes into play. I speak of mostly older video games, hockey cards, etc. "Collectables"

lots of people argue there is a bubble for all this shit and prices will one day come back (weird.. sounds familiar :troll:) however, in both cases with hockey cards and video games, the prices are now 25-300+ times the prices they were when i began collecting both, over 10 years ago now.

some vehicles, especially vehicles where there are less and less each year, may plateau, but probably will never be affordable again.

^ BRB on my way to Ladysmith

That 98 ITR posted on CL last week for 30k USD with just 16,XXX kms on it turned out to be real 97 so you never know. It is on its way to California.

A few years ago I started collecting NES/SNES/N64 games for nostalgia. I sold some off that I didn't have personal attachment to like Super Mario RPG and N64 Smash Bros. Should have kept them.
