Depends on what the issue is and if you DIY.
I'm assuming since it's listed for 6k you can probably bargain it and to say $4.5-5.5k. Smg issue could be as easy as a broken spring or something catastrophic. If I was the buyer I'd bring it in to a shop and assess it there. Too much work wouldn't be worth it.
As for the top you can buy used ones for probably $400-$900 and just install them.
You do all that and resell it for what $16k.

Well my friend bought a blue em1 SiR that was posted here recently.

I find it interesting to see collector cars posted and read discussions about common issues / costs.

My brother in laws truck is for sale. I don't know how competitive the pricing is right now, but it is a great truck in greta shape. Id buy it if it were an auto. I'd also get the brother discount.
