Just means it was in a front end accident and they never replaced the air bags.
A Momo steering wheel will fix that. :awwyeah:
And black electrical tape will fix the SRS light. :lawl:

Traum 12-12-2016 09:47 AM

The rebuilt title doesn't concern me right away -- it's a 93 Miata after all. A fender bender will cause ICBC to write it off. And the airbag light... well, if you get into any sort of serious crash in a 93 Miata nowadays, I'm not sure how much an airbag will protect you anyway.

The 17" wheels are horrible and totally wrong for the car. But if someone is interested in it, I'd look into how serious the crash damage was. It may or may not be a deal breaker.

flagella 12-12-2016 10:26 AM

Based on that particular set of wheels on the Miata, I'd say the car is in shit condition.

ilvtofu 12-12-2016 11:41 AM

If it's like my NB a resistor will also fix the air bag light
Used aftermarket 4x100 wheels are cheap, stock miata wheels are even cheaper

"This car would be awesome for someone who is a collector or just even some one who loves to drive far distances as how amazing it is on gas"

Who the hell would want to drive long distances in that noisy and rusty little POS?!

99 integra SE. 230k runs and drives great/ 5spd great clutch/ paint peeling on roof/ slightly scratches on passenger side see pics!
1999 Integra SE

If rust free this would be great. I kind of want this for myself, but I don't need another car.

Akinari 12-12-2016 08:19 PM

Now this would be a fun winter beater. Hard-to-find 4WD 5spd. High mileage but these things last forever anyway, my E is higher mileage than that and perfectly fine.

that's a nice looking A4! Interesting that he spent all that $ on bodykit and wheels and hasn't lowered it or done an ECU tune.

westopher 12-13-2016 01:46 PM

My GTI was offered with an ABT kit by the dealership? Maybe something weird like that again. Or first owner removed the suspension to make it more appealing to non enthusiasts for sale.

Akinari 12-13-2016 03:09 PM

Pretty sure it's Oettinger not Ottinger, unless it's some shitty knockoff :lawl:

Can someone explain why people cover their plates with their fingers?

You drive around all day long and people can see your plates, why cover it up when listing it online...? Are these just tinfoil hat wearing MF'ers, or is there some shit I am missing that people can do with your license plate...?

white rocket 12-13-2016 03:18 PM

Perhaps people think that their plate number can be traced to their home and become a target for theft. A bit of a stretch considering ICBC's new privacy rules but that may be why. Or tinfoil.

underscore 12-13-2016 03:21 PM

I think it stemmed from the problems people have had in areas with private insurance where their insurance would get cancelled if their insurer saw they were at AutoX or something.

Same with people refusing to give the VIN number. It's on your dash and I can see it when you are parked.

It was more to do with manufacturers voiding warranty on newer cars.
Only time insurance was an issue was when a car with collector plates was driven at autoX.

TopsyCrett 12-13-2016 03:55 PM

Just preventative measures I guess. Someone could make a fake claim, or report your license plate as a prank or as fraud. (Yes, that person could just look out the window to do this - however if a "Blue Forester" hit them - a quick craigslist search could give them a plate?)

A few years back someone hit my car and that person happened to be an acquaintance. I was friendly enough to offer to not go through ICBC and for them to pay out of pocket for the damage. Therefore Just exchanged numbers, no license plates... Obviously after they were hit with a $3000 quote shit went south and I needed their plate to make a claim. Their car was posted all over instagram with plate showing. Made it easy for me.

fliptuner 12-13-2016 04:00 PM

Maybe they think Liam Neeson is reading their ad. :troll:

Ironically, his name, phone number and general location, is included in the ad.

Not exactly hard to find.

I've seen collector plates at autoX before, as long as not modified beyond what's allowed should be fine. Only restrictions I'm aware are driving to work or school.

In BC, sure. In other places people have had their insurance company call them and cancel their policies because they found pictures of the car at an event.
