be sure to do a carfax etc. on this one. i'm not saying it was this exact one, but in my other life when i was into vw i remember there was a white r32 with this spec that was imported in by a shady burnaby used car lot. it was from an american dealer auction with front end accident history, lots warranty claims on file, and was branded as a lemon buyback. this would have been around 2010/2011.

there aren't that many white r32's here, and back then the exchange rate was good enough to warrant the importation from the US. again, i'm not saying this is the exact same one, so if this one checks out, good luck and negotiate hard because there isn't much time left.

Not bad if you can get them down to around $58 or so, looks pretty clean. Make sure you check for transmission thoroughly, definitely the most fragile part

i already looked at it. good luck trying to bargain it lower than it already is. this is a local car and not us import or from east coast. it has new michelin pss summers (made for a very entertaining test ride in below zero temps), and has some minor cosmetic damage to the paintwork up front. non-smoker and the interior is spotless. this was a two adult owner car with zero modifications, with the exception of an aftermarket front(!) and rear camera system. service history is with north vancouver nissan. there is a small icbc claim on file but i do not know what it was for.
sadly my mustang was not worth anything in trade against this, and having just bought it a few months ago i do not want to go even further into debt over another car so soon .
if anyone is serious go contact tofu as he was the one who originally sold it, but it came back to be traded in for a m5 because it was "too impractical"... sacrilege.

Trade in values always frighten me. On CL or dealers they ask about 26k for a stock focus of my yesr w/ higher mileage. I'd be afraid (and probably insulted) of how shitty of a trade in I'd be offered

you get below market value for trading in your car and used car price from dealer will cost above average + doc fees
there is a reason why dealership also called stealership

Used car prices at dealers are ridiculously marked up!
Having said that, if you do your research, and know the kind of mark up on used car, and you are good negotiator, you can get a pretty good deal on used car at stealership. I got about $2800 knocked off a $11,000 originally listed price. Pretty happy with final price. And that is with all the doc fees, BS, etc. included in the math. Especially if is an off brand car on their lot (eg. Used Acura on a VW lot).
Yea dealerships will use the lower of black book value, never the market value, then turn around and sell for at least 20% up (I don't blame them, businesses have to make money). I was potentially going to pick up a m3 this year, I was just wondering what they would give me for my s2k (06,75k km, no accidents, hardtop, local) and they offered me $19k LOL
But the upside with dealerships is you get "warranty" and it saves you the hassle of having to deal with craigslist people and risk getting a shitty car (which can be mitigated with a thorough check)
i already looked at it. good luck trying to bargain it lower than it already is.
There is always room for negotiation, especially with used vehicles. Dealerships always markup at least 10-20%, so 58k isnt exactly a slap in the face. I'm sure tofu could hook whoever up if theyre seriously interested.
Off topic question tofu, is there any sort of warranty on used vehicles?

It really depends on the store and how they are pricing their vehicles. Some dealerships price their vehicles to move within a 60 day window and price to market very aggressively. The purpose is to avoid the games.
Based on the numbers BJ Autohaus is doing, I'm guessing they fit into this pricing style and as such, they are expecting to get pretty close to that $63k figure on the vehicle. Doing a quick check of pricing on '09 GT-Rs shows that their offering is the lowest priced in Canada with nearly the lowest mileage and totally stock.
Not all dealerships are in business to rip people off. They want to quickly turn vehicles and price them at or close to realistic transaction price.
Especially considering they just sold this exact car a few months ago for a profit, and now again lol.... tofu'd $$$
if company doesnt profit at all from selling cars or making money from service dept....
I dont think i'll have a job nor the dealer will stay open
I mean, you don't see people complaining paying stupid money for iphones...
We sold 2283 Pre owned cars last year.......... I don't think theres anything wrong on the deals we give out!
I cant wrap my head around why everyone says dealers rip people off.... sure it may be a bit more than a shady lot on king george or off craigslist, but you sleep better at night (and if shit does hit the fan, someone to go back to)
Another thing is financing: goodluck getting personal loan on a private sale car

I was the previous owner of this R32 it's not the car you're thinking of. Carfax is clean, 1 claim in BC from a collision with an animal, no claims in the USA. That said it has evidence (tape lines, fisheyes in the paint) of being repaired privately by the owner or owners before me. Runs nice and drives well, I kept up with regular services at RPI equipped. Not sure about the guy now.
I was asking for 16k when I sold it back in september, I did not take 16. There should be room for negotiation.
