if company doesnt profit at all from selling cars or making money from service dept....
I dont think i'll have a job nor the dealer will stay open
I mean, you don't see people complaining paying stupid money for iphones...
We sold 2283 Pre owned cars last year.......... I don't think theres anything wrong on the deals we give out!
I cant wrap my head around why everyone says dealers rip people off.... sure it may be a bit more than a shady lot on king george or off craigslist, but you sleep better at night (and if shit does hit the fan, someone to go back to)
Another thing is financing: goodluck getting personal loan on a private sale car
and for those of us who still owe a bit on financing, it's usually a lot easier to trade in the vehicle than it is to try and sell the car privately, since the bank still holds the title

Things might be better down there because there are more dealers of brand X not too far away, but around here I've yet to come across a dealership that isn't run by morons ripping people off left right and center. Granted I haven't dealt with every dealer in the valley, but all the ones I have are terrible.

I'm with you in this sense TOFU.
Some dealers, and I believe yours provide a value with their service that will show for the life of the car. It's just that people get jaded by the Kingsway dealers selling scrap heaps and the blitzkreigs flipping cars with for 40% profit without providing any benefit or service other than financing for that massive mark up. A dealer should provide value for the premium.

Tell me about it. My dealings at Ford and Subaru when I was car shopping last summer was hilarious
I dunno who you dealt with at Ford but when I wanted to go test drive your e92 he was relentless, would not give up then told me I was stupid for not coming in. Couldn't help but laugh
