I'd pay that price for a GXP or GT. Definitely not a V6 like what this guy is selling.

Only US touring have those pax wheels and nothing a set of aftermarket/OE takeoffs won't solve.

that semi cloth/ leather bolster interior looks pretty cool.

if properly maintained... they're actually not that expensive to keep running.

But yeah, V6 for the price he's asking f? Yeah no.

G8 Production numbers:

13,991 Base G8s
22,629 G8 GTs
1,829 G8 GXPs

You can see why GXPs have retained their value. The closer to stock, the better. Many were built up and put away wet, others were just destroyed which makes them scarcer than ever.

You can see how technically the Base models are rarer than the GTs. That's because they weren't worth the price vs the GT. The GT cost $2500 more and you got 2 cylinders (with AFM) and 110 extra horsepower. No brainer.

The fun fact is the V6 Base models had to be imported for the rest of the lineup to be imported as well. I can't remember why it was but that was the case.

GXP was never available up here but you'll find some were imported back when the dollars were on parity. My friend got one from Arizona. Fucking badass car.

My guess would be the CAFE requirements that also debuted in 2008.

If it's in the early stages it's likely contained to the head, a bit of machine work or a couple rebuilt heads and you're on your way. I haven't seen the best long-term reliability out of any of the V8's so I'd only suggest this to a DIYer.
