Just shy of over a grand, but you can probably get it for a thousand.

6o4__boi 08-27-2014 07:33 AM

^ would be a good deal

too bad its from a shady ass dealership in new west :heckno:

that second one tho...for a grand that'd be a pretty sweet deal for a winter beater/first manual

Either way, my friend and I didn't get to see it in person as they were sitting in their warehouse, so couldn't inspect it in person. We did see the reports and there were $20k front end damage. Wasn't a write-off since it was done back in 2003 when the car was valued at $50k.

Thanks for the info though, saved us a lot of time.

I wonder if it is the same car as this... sounds like it is:

It's not the first one, but almost def the 2nd one. It does have 5-6 claims totalling over 20k

fliptuner 08-27-2014 11:07 AM

Only main issue is the headgaskets.

Lowered_Klass 08-27-2014 11:10 AM

Isn't that with the later models? 87-88+?

I thought the 86 was the last year of the older style motor before being 'upgraded' to the notorious motor that loves to eat head gaskets?

2000 Porsche 911 (996) GT3

Edit: Never mind, it's actually just the GT3 bodykit. If it was a real GT3, it would have been worth looking at...

tofu1413 08-27-2014 02:12 PM

real GT3... instantly worth double!

tofu1413 08-27-2014 02:51 PM

200k on a gt3... probably still 10k more than this one. end of the day still a factory GT3!

that thing has been for sale for a while now. Owner keeps changing pics, and hyping up the car more and more in each ad (i'm surprised the original selling price hasn't hit 200g's yet)

...but it's still the same car

I could've sworn the HG issue was due to the head bolt/stud torque rating being too low, if you torque them down more I think they're okay.

SpeedStars 08-27-2014 09:24 PM

1986 Toyota Corolla GTS not bad for an 86... But not sure if the price is good :concentrate:

Ronin 08-27-2014 11:36 PM

Four grand for a 30 year old Corolla seems like a bad idea.

If it weren't for DORRRREEEEFFFFFTTTTOOOOOOOOOO, this would be a $500 car.

Fuck. I was mentally ready for a long fight with the wife when I showed up at home with it without any discussion.

bmw 1998 323IS 3-SERIES
This looks like an amazing deal for a fun daily. If it runs decently hes practically giving it away.
