And advertises el cheapo tires as well. I'd be embarrassed to list a car like that and ask for so much. I wonder what else is cheaped out.

Not just el cheapo tires, buddy is running 205s on a 9 inch wheel.. they're supposed to be got 6.5s. 9 inch wheels are supposed to be running something like a 245.

Ugghhhhhh I would want this.... and the kit makes it worth it. But RA1 parts cost quite a bit from Japan. And that motor is pretty crappy....

fliptuner 03-25-2017 10:38 AM

The van on its own is probably worth $2500-$3000 (clean, decent colour). With the wheels/kit/suspension, it's a decent deal, IMO.

I'd take it over a 2nd/3rd gen for sure.

I see Alberta plates in one picture. Love a near stock LHD FD but quite a few issues with this FD scattered through out of this wordy ad. "Babied maintenance wise" and then makes excuses for not repairing some items. I get that this car is now 24 years old but not repairing a bunch of things makes me question what else it needs. No mention of tires or brakes.
  • A/C needs recharge or repairs needed
  • Rear speakers removed
  • Cracked window seals
  • Cracked sunroof seal
  • Rust spot under the sunroof seal
  • Hood release broken
  • Battery nearly dead
  • EGR valve not working
At first I thought they didn't know the market, severely under priced the car and then were inundated with contacts. Now I wonder (wander?) if their plan was to start a bidding war.

Also funny to see the Victoria Mazda RX7 10th Anniversary being flipped for 10k:

fliptuner 03-25-2017 08:16 PM

Yeah, money is money but it's annoying, nonetheless.

tegra7 03-25-2017 08:19 PM

That fd has been posted about 3 times now.

TouringTeg 03-25-2017 08:36 PM

Seeing that LHD FD made me realize how hard it is to find a reasonable mileage, near stock, LHD 90s/00s popular import in BC now. It seems they have been written off, exported to USA or are hidden away in garages or collections with owners who really enjoy them and don't plan to ever sell.

The cars I grew up with are few and far between in Canada. They never sold in high numbers here either. I guess that is why the red 91 NSX is $70k and not $35k anymore.

Here are some that I watch for:

Acura NSX
Acura Integra Type R
Mazda RX7 FD
Nissan 300ZX TT
Toyota Supra TT
Toyota MR2 turbo

Shortage already starting:
WRX/STi
S2000

All of these are labour-intensive cars, so they tend to be neglected. The RX7 and Supra were a bit more popular so people seemed to have cared for more of them, but I seem to see a lot of abused MR2s and 300s.

68style 03-25-2017 10:36 PM

I've never had any significant problems with my MR2 Turbo in 14 years of ownership besides the stock turbo blowing around 220,000kms
