wonder if there is anything else wrong with it. manual 4runner is rare as it is
it's frame rust that i'm worried about. generations of 4runners, tacomas, etc. from the past were known to rot and turn into swiss cheese.

There are cars that get posted up on this thread that I would love to buy, and cars that are posted that I would never touch. I'm sure there is overlap in the cars you and I would both look at and think "I'd buy that!" and there are cars on which our opinions differ and that's OK.
I'm not clairvoyant so I don't know what cars please or interest you or others so I post up cars that I find interesting as well as good value relative to similar examples.
If there was a heavily moderated thread for "Craigslist Good Buys on Only Sensible Cars" I think it would get less hits than this thread.

Your logic is perfect for someone to buy an once expensive car and realize you got in over your head.....have fun spending more on your annual maintenance costs that the purchase price! at least you bought it cheap right?

This is what I'm worried about. So many cars I once wanted, but now obtainable. BUT will rust or maintenance repair be too much to handle.
While I would've loved to have an STI as a 17-year-old, 33-year-old me thinks it would've been a terrible idea to have a car with that much capability at that age. I did some really, really stupid shit behind the wheel in my teens and I probably wouldn't have been as lucky with double the power.
Pretty much everyone I knew did the same in high school and most of the guys with the Mustang GTs, Dodge Stealths, Camaro SSs, etc. back then ended up with multiple accidents and tickets.

do your research Snake. Some cars are allot better than others. From your research you find out which years and models are more troublesome than others. S2000s, supras are expensive to purchase right now, but maintenance is somewhat reasonable compared to an E60 M5 or Audi S6. Those things have lots of stuff that can go wrong that can cost you $5K+

Yep, there is a reason why AP1 are the same price as E60 M5's
appears to be stock internet photos and not of the actual car for sale... description makes it sound like the base model ie. not the tech or elite version?

I sort of know the owner of this car, if it hasn't changed hands since a year ago. Nice guy, total enthusiast. I'm amazed it priced that low. It's way too cheap for what it is unless it's got a big hit I dont know about.
