can't argue with the price, but that gsr is a bit of a hot mess cosmetically... the description says it has a carbon fibre hood? maybe it's not installed?

as for the description for that EK hatch, not complaining about what's on the car but i thought 96specr's are 4x114.3? and then there is that the cloud of steam coming out from under the hood in some of the pics

rebuilt title, color change (which could be why there are no engine bay pics) 2+2 NA model with a TT swap that has higher mileage than the car itself (that is if the claimed mileage on the motor is correct? it could be more)... having said that LHD Z32's are getting fewer in number these days in any sort of intact condition so...

TouringTeg 04-28-2017 10:48 AM

Ya it will never have much value since it is not an original TT + rebuilt title. Tough sell.

I don't know much about the pricing on these Miatas but this seems reasonable:

2006 Mazda MX5 Miata Excellent Condition West Shore: Langford,Colwood,Metchosin,Highlands, Victoria

6spd 190km $12,000 Hardtop, summer and winter tires, summer and winter mats

HONDA S2000 CONVERTIBLE (CU069A) - Capilano Audi

posting this S2000 back up. I just got back from driving it. Relatively clean (a few bumper scrapes) clean history, local since new, new tires and brakes. I could have taken away for ~26 + tax. I think that's right on the money for AP2's these days. They were also perfectly willing to allow inspection anywhere. I think this car is very much a "CL good buy"

however

this was a case of never meeting your heroes though. I've coveted an S2000 since I first saw one, but have actually never driven one. I'm a euro-snob through and through. I've had over a dozen vw's, couple of BMW's and my 996. I'd rather be in any of them than the S2000. I appreciate what it is, but also that it does nothing for me. Tinny, noisy, kinda cheap feeling. It reminded my of bombing around in my brothers various AE86's over the years. I'm sure they're a blast, but it just doesn't suit my style.

So that's out - going to keep looking for a Cayman, or a BMW Z coupe etc.

I drove an E46 M3 cab and an S2000 back to back last summer, and while the S2000 was something special, I think it would be an amazing toy, where asthe E46 a much better multi purpose car.

sigh...the dealer most likely got that S2000 at blackbook value, all these market prices aren't really helping with getting a good deal. Even @ $26K I don't find it appealing.

Super clean 330ci with m-sport pkg, mileage a bit high though.

If my car sold near asking I'd hop on this asap

The reason being...?

From my research, as long as you are avoiding the 987.1 cars, Caymans and Boxsters don't seem like they are particularly worse than your typical German car ownership experience.

Would love to hear you out on your insights on this one, since this is eventually a road that I'd like to go down on.

I checked this out a couple months ago and offered 25. They told me they won't come down even if they keep the car for a year. They've had it since December!!

I didn't drive it but I tried to open the top twice and both times it got stuck half way. Finally got it open with some manual assistance. Battery died while trying to open the top. I found the aftermarket remote start to work randomly. Back bumper had some minor damage. Overall the car was nice but the color is not my first choice.

I can tell that'd be the case without driving them back to back.

Also it felt like the original clutch so that is another maintenance item to keep in mind in the near future.

I should have worded it better.

I've been looking for a cayman for a while and cant find a good one in my price point.

Right now on the market the only "good" quality Caymans are a couple GT4's and 1 2014 Cayman S at porsche vancouver which is a little too much $$ for me to commit to.

tegra7 04-28-2017 03:15 PM

That s2k would be a good flip if the car proof is clean.

Once you add $500 doc and tax it's not a good flip anymore. Would be good to keep for a year or so and sell it to get all your money back later.

Yes, I am definitely a little surprised by how strong Cayman prices have stood. It also doesn't help that brand new Cayman sales have never been too strong to start with, so in the used market now, there aren't very many cars around -- and the vast majority of them are PDK cars when I would insist on a manual.

I came across this 981CS yesterday from the PCA-CWR Facebook page:

https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/nvn/cto/6090996438.html

https://images.craigslist.org/00u0u_...P_1200x900.jpg

The car is apparently owned by one of their chapter members, and has been well cared for under his tenure. Given the condition and maintenance history, I thought it was a reasonable -- but not smoking -- deal. However, for myself at least, the red interior was definitely not my cup of tea, so I couldn't justify it.
