Oh I see, how about the integra instead of the rsx? Does the integra perform similarly to the rsx?

hud 91gt 05-01-2017 07:24 PM

The RSX is the new Integra.

BIC_BAWS 05-01-2017 10:27 PM

I'd say that csx is the fancier civic, more than the rsx.

Sooooo....anyone that buys that car from him for $56K, will pay $6,720 in taxes when they register it, bringing the cost of the car to $62,720...pretty much $63K! So while it's true, he might have been a sucker and paid $63K for it, if that's the case then he's not making money but the government IS, collecting tax twice to the tune of $13.5K on a car with 650 km on it.

I think I'd rather go to BB Ford (or any other dealer) and buy a new one for $53K tax in and be the first registered owner. Why would another buyer overpay because he overpayed? It's likely that all the buyers that had to have a Focus RS at any price have bought, and now most dealers are selling them at MSRP without any additional dealer markups.

bcuzracecarz 05-02-2017 08:28 AM

I get that the story probably checks out , but how do you figure out that you have 3 kids after only 650kms? Expensive thing to realize

He lives in the shittiest of shitholes in Langley. Super high density, yet he blows $63+k of his kid's milk money on the most expensive Focus you can buy. If this doesn't scream "fiscal irresponsibility", then nothing does.

The conversation went like this.

guy: "honey, I bought a new Ford"
wife: "ok, it's a Focus. It shouldn't be that expensive, we can work through this"
guy: "It was $63k"
wife: "FailFishWutFace:heckno:WutFaceFailFish"
guy: "It's okay hun, Nu Stream realty has a buyer who wants to give us $750k for our shitty townhouse. We'll be okay."

Sorry not eligible for collectors.

"Vehicle eligibility

GM owns the Pontiac trademark and they have kept producing vehicles for the last five years.

it's been there for awhile now. i see it whenever i pass by their lot going home from work. but it does seem to move to a different spot from time to time so at least it's not sitting there with a dead battery slowly sinking into the ground...

It does look clean but IMHO...

I didn't find my OEM hardtop to be all that great to live with. It didn't reduce noise THAT much. Certainly didn't reduce squeaks and flex, and it's a bitch to store when it's not on the car.

Dealers argue that you get the turbo looks without the headache. The opposite is true, you're still plagued with IMS issues. The turbo motor is arguably less prone to issues.

there's no such thing as vert tax on Porsches - the equiv coupes sell for more. This one is a lotta scratch when you can buy a local C4S coupe for 10k less or a C2 cab for half the money.

As for the dealer, I haven't bought from CofC but found them agreeable to deal with when I was looking for a cayman last year.

^ 1 year ago these were low to mid 30s......looks like the porsche tax has infected the 996s....

He bought an RS, and then got someone pregnant. It's not hard to figure out how that happened ;)

jasonturbo 05-02-2017 01:20 PM

The 996 C4s cab is priced 10k higher than it will probably sell for.

Low miles, looks to be in decent shape.. but it's a cab, doesn't have sport seats, and has the ugly 5 spoke wheels.

You can get a coupe 996 C4s 6MT w/ sport seats for around 40K with reasonably low miles.. I would sooner opt for that.

TL;DR it's $4000. Steep yes but it looks damn clean and is pure classic JDM.
