You can for about $2-3K but it won't handle the same as stock.

Hahahaha $6,000 for a RSX Premium with 200,000kms+ on it?????? I had a mint one I sold a year ago and couldn't get a dime over 4 for it with 160,000kms on it no matter what I did, ended up getting creative and selling it to someone in the USA instead for $4k USD to maximize my money out of it. Good luck to this guy at 6.

Btw those cars suck. Worst car I ever owned, didn't break down or anything but totally uninspiring and a turning radius that leaves you envious of a cruise ship, it seriously needs minimum 4+ lanes of road to do a u-turn. Throw in some known issues like a guaranteed timing chain tensioner breakage (with interference engine no less! Ticking time bomb!) and you got a real winner!

The airmatic isn't such a big deal it's the hydraulic active body control that's on all the 600s and AMGs that you really want to avoid and cannot be easily converted to anything else

I believe that 1M has been posted a few times over they years. Mileage is a bit high for collector pricing.

I just sold my supercharged '95 Miata for less than that. The fact that he's selling it for "something more reliable" what's the story? And who would use Jiffy lube to do routine maintenance? Not saying he has to do it himself but there are lots of indy mechanics I'd trust more than Jiffy Lube.

flagella 05-07-2017 01:15 PM

Ya, well I swear every single miata gets posted here, whether good buy or not.

Not only Miata ... kinda ruining the thread.

westopher 05-07-2017 03:45 PM

This thread was ruined the day it was created.
More audience = more demand.
More demand = less good buys.

I'm sorry

:okay:

Though, when I made this thread, it was never meant to be a spam fest of crap buys. It started really well but then people got carried away posting ads for cars they like vs. an actual good buy.

But people on RS (and I bet lurkers too) have purchased from this thread so I don't know.

sorry for messing up your thread GS8. i'll get out now.

DEADBEA7 05-07-2017 05:36 PM

I've purchased an E36 thanks to this thread and Traum for posting the ad. I would've never seen the ad either as it was posted on the "Business" section on CL.

Unfortunately for me, the E36's engine decided it had enough after its second trackday. I'm browsing CL and this thread often in search of another track car lol.

Don't apologize. Didn't want it to sound like I was targeting you. I mean you did post a red 3 series coupe that was picked up by another RS'er.

I think we should just be more cautious about what gets posted. I think westopher brought up a great point if the same cars at questionable values keep getting posted, it could irreversibly affect market values. This thread has a lot of views so it clearly gets watched by a lot of lurkers. I bet some of them purposely post fake ads to lure some of you guys in.

It's not my thread, it's OUR thread and I think overall it's been pretty good but as I said, maybe dial back on what gets posted for the sake of keeping car values in check.

It's bad enough real estate is an over-inflated joke. I don't want a bunch of cars heading in that direction as well.
