One of my older friends has one of these cars. The complaint is the manual transmission. Apparently the trans only holds 1.5 litres of oil. Gets very stiff and notchy even with synthetic oil

^ that m10 motor though is atrocious. Had a boosted one in my old e21 and it belongs in farm equipment LOL. If the body is rust free and clean I'd say it's a great swap candidate since I believe these earlier models are the lightest available

Don't love the car itself but the price is right and sounds taken care of. I tried google searching the image and no duplicates came back, might be worth a look for someone looking for a cheap DD.

I don't understand why people would spend all this money to fix their car only to sell it for less? See it all the time, maybe they're just blowing smoke but the odd time its true just scrap the thing

This EXACT one comes up for sale every summer. AFAIK it didn't sell last year, and iirc it's the same pics. Tho it's more expensive this yr, I remember seeing it for way less (18-20?)
