It's more expensive than a Civic or Corolla, but a non-turbo E90 isn't astronomically expensive to maintain.

westopher 07-01-2017 06:41 PM

It's relative though. If you are spending 3k on a car, the first 2k bill you get from a shop could hurt REAL bad.
BMW cooling systems can do that to a person very quickly.

Or it was owned by a teenager who put a spoiler on it, then a new trunk was swapped on when the spoiler came off.

help you avoid?
its the early fsi, first model year 06, and a first model year dsg
i'd honestly spend a bit more coin and get the tfsi and the updated dsg starting from 08+

Yah, I know but the cheapest 08-09 A3 is like 2.5x that so it's not just a 'bit more coin' ... that's a LOT of coin. For this price point, you go in with your eyes open and get what you pay. Pretty half decent car for less than $6K. Cheapest comparable GTI (06) lists for like $8K.

jpark 07-03-2017 12:40 PM

well, you did ask to help avoid. Go buy it then

Fafine 07-03-2017 12:43 PM

Just buy it.
Audi's are awesome and reliable.

SB7 07-03-2017 01:05 PM

for the love of god get a PPI before you buy!

BIC_BAWS 07-03-2017 02:42 PM

Looks like whitev70r already made up their mind!
