Not necessarily a good deal at $9000. But a fairly hard to find car.

Went and saw this a few weeks back and decided to pass on it. couple things to point out that is not mentioned in the ad...

- flex pipe is completely broken
- guy apparently hit a curb and now the front right wheel wobbles while driving
- don't believe the engine is original. the person who owned the car before this use to track the car and had a type r engine but took it out and replaced it with another engine when he got rid of the car
- sun roof is busted

Wobbling you think cuz of bent axle?

prudz 07-10-2017 10:06 AM

Not only that, look at the odometer. Every number has been moved around which typically indicates it has been rolled back.

Didn't someone post a couple pages back saying this was messed with by a tire kicker and doesn't run anymore?

What do you all think about the 2010+ S4? Here are a couple posted, almost at 1/3 of new MSRP. Engine went to the V6 3.0T (instead of the chain maze V8), easily chipped to ~400 hp with Stage 1 or 1.5, ... same basic engine in the A7?

2010 Audi S4, 160K, $20K (albeit, a bit high on mileage)

Been a VW owner for 15+ years. Judging by my experience, the 5 to 6 year mark (from new) is when things start to break. Then in the 6 - 7 years mark, it is when things really start to break / need servicing.

A 2010 Audi is pretty much right at that point. Ask for service history because you'd definitely want to know whether any of the major maintenance / repairs has been done in the previous 2 - 3 years.

Would not want to own in or out of warranty. :heckno: my friend and I drove down to portland in his 2016 S4 last year; thing was near brand new but the engine went into limp mode with EPC issues on the fuckin' highway. Needless to say, we were shit scared of being stranded in the states. At least the interior was comfy. I drove my 3 year old Fuck-RS down to Arizona a couple of years ago in 37-40 degree heat and it didn't have a single issue.

From the 3-4 visits* to Audi I experienced down in richmond, the service is absolute shiet. The smug asshole techs that work there really don't want to do anything more than the absolute minimum to help you. They really do not want to take care of you after the sale of the car.

*Not statistically significant, fine, but that's my take and is enough to steer my friend and I clear of ever picking up an Audi/VW. I'll only say that it drives well when and if it's god damn ready to drive well. When it wants to fuck with you and ruin your day, it'll pick the worst time to do it.

The Defender models are going for big time coin right now. Watch for frame rust in these earlier land rovers. At least this has the full syncro transmission. Some people think they are weak
