Shark Tank 09-23-2014 02:06 PM

BMW fan like Westopher will like this:

Bmw M3

Even @ $28k I think its a good buy if looking for the right modified car. Owner spent 32k in mods invested. A sick show car!! Quite possibly the nicest e46 in Van City. Turns heads like crazy I bet.

Not in Vancouver shark tank, and no it's not a good deal...

tofu1413 09-23-2014 02:26 PM

Stock M3 is best M3.

626 is California.

It looks to be a well put together car. It will be hard to find someone who wants to buy it in it's "as is" state for that price though. Difference in marginal values - that's the problem with selling modified cars.

Repo.com : 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class CLS55 AMG

Cheap. No options though, no parking sensors, no keyless go, no suede headliner, no cooled/massage seats

You didn't miss much. Owner wanted a 911 GT3 so bad that he converted his M3 to sort match a GT3 RS scheme.

Red stock wheels and a set of red TE37's.
Aftermarket hood, front splitter
Gutter rear seats with a red rear half cage like a GT3.
A lot of other mods that totalled over $30K.

Guy was asking $24K for his car.

I can already tell the car has been in a rear end accident, as there is no vin tag on the licence plate holder. The badges also don't line up perfectly.

Too bad, I'm almost finished the insurance process on my old car, and I'd like to get into an E or CLS 55

underscore 09-26-2014 08:44 AM

So long as it was just a cosmetic rear ended I wouldn't be worried about it, IMO that would be the best area for a car to be damaged.

EVERY car can be stolen. I'd argue it's most likely easier as everything is computerized, and with the right technical knowledge every car computer system can be hacked.

edit: I should clarify though, the sophisticated car thieve gangs who go out of their way to steal these expensive cars would ship them off to a third world country immediately, and not go for a joyride in it.......
It's still a big problem in Europe.

rps13 09-26-2014 07:33 PM

Over the past year or so I've watched as desirable air cooled Porsches have been stolen from California and never recovered. The alarm is never set off the the immobilizer is either bypassed or the car is just towed. The cars are likely put in containers never to be seen again Canada/USA.

Seems like a good deal on the E46 6spd M3 coupe for $14,000? I understand 01-03 have their issues, but why does milage affect the price so drastically? Perhaps that would make a great daily and autoX car.

I think vehicle theft with tow trucks/flatbeds is getting more common, it's much easier to just hook onto the car, drag it onto a flatbed and drive off than to get the car running and driving on the spot.
