You decide to buy a German car, you have budget for repairs. The bigger ims still fails. But when it does, splitting the case is a must. The ims bearing is bigger than the hole on the block. Can't extract it with the tool like the earlier, smaller bearing. Scored cylinders with audible knocking means new bottom end time. Used long block is 10 to 15. New short block is 20 plus 5-10 in ancillaries and gaskets. Rebuild to a 4.0 is 30 and up. There is no such thing as a cheap Porsche. |
Why does this have to be yellow!?!!! If this was any other color I would be enjoying a Cayman S at a pretty good price. 2014 Porsche Cayman S Coupe - Vancouver $59,980 | autoTRADER.ca EDIT: AFTER ACTUALLY READING THE DESCRIPTION IT WAS IN A MONSTROUS CRASH LOL |

$56,500 claim from icbc. Jesus fucking Christ! |
Yeah but that means you're basically getting the rest of the car for only $3534.03. What a steal! |
^ when you put it that way..... :considered: |
so...... can I offer them $3,534.03 for all the bits that weren't damaged and replaced? kidding..kidding...please don't fail my post!! Quote:

sounds about right for a P car with a full front or rear end damage, with popped air bags. thoroughly reviewing the detailed repair order, should shed some light onto what happened. we had a customer get side swipped in a new ish ML63 and it needed two doors, fender work, glass and quarter panel work. side airbags were deployed. claim was about $47k and parts were on order for half a year.... |
g37s cpe, 2nd owner, clean title, lowish k's, not surrey'd and completely stock, about 4-5g cheaper than what it should be worth? https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/...301677154.html |
Perhaps it has some sort of accident damage? I've been looking an manual coupes, and the asking price seems to hover around the $17k mark for a clean example. |
Anyone want to buy a Stock car? https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/...284436105.html https://images.craigslist.org/00H0H_...Z9_600x450.jpg https://images.craigslist.org/00606_...iH_600x450.jpg And it looks like you get quite a lot of extra parts for your $35,000. |
Damn. That's a pretty unique market but seems like one hell of a steal. Just the LS1 is $12k USD |
Ironically that is actually fairly expensive as far as GT2 cars go (which is probably warranted given the low operating hours - many of those cars are 10+ years old of pure racing lives). -Mark |

Or how about a $150,000 French hatchback from the 1980's? https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/...290575204.html https://images.craigslist.org/00u0u_...os_600x450.jpg https://images.craigslist.org/00n0n_...kb_600x450.jpg |
will even the most hardcore rally fans pay more than 10% of that? apparently someone paid 70k usd for this example https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=eo97pdwP5ek that Clio looks so nice...how much is that $400k? :troll: |

https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/pml/...305247352.html Parts list is good, might be the pictures but it doesn't look as clean as the blue one that came through. |
^ That's an amazing parts list. It reads like a 90's jdm car magazine. |
Sans wheels, that one's built for function over form, compared to the blue one. |
pricey to do beams swap |

The Beams AE86 is :ahwow: :ahwow: |
^ I've never really considered buying a car from this thread. That AE is something special though. If it's still around when I get back to town next week, I am going to have to offer on it. In fact, I've written a haiku for the car. Hachi roku, damn bejewelled beams and jdm making so much want Quote:
Good eye. No one else caught on to that obscure piece of info. Maybe he's trying to floss a local into thinking that his R5 is the best R5, and not just a daily beater. I often wonder when rare cars like this pop up. There is such a huge price difference when comparing a low model to something that is so limited. |
