^pretty steep price no?

TouringTeg 02-02-2018 08:47 AM

Definitely. Who knows what they are worth to MR2 collectors though.

For a 30 year old car, that's in immaculate condition. Interior could use a steam clean and detail.

I'm kind of skeptical that it doesn't have rust. first places to spot are the rear arches and spoiler. My old celica supra suffered the same issues as with my AE92.

68style 02-02-2018 12:01 PM

I've never seen a MK1 without rust somewhere in the rear fenders unless they were replaced... they actually make reproduction replacements now, but it's still a hefty bill for autobody. If this was an 89 it would be worth more, but I wouldn't pay more than $6-7k for this if everything checks out and that's speaking as an enthusiast of MR2's... (disclaimer: I own a MK2 SW20 though, not a huge MK1 guy).

underscore 02-02-2018 01:28 PM

The rear arches always rust on the 1st gen, so if it really is rust free and all original then I'd say it's well worth the price. I've ridden in and driven a couple and I've never been in anything else quite like them.

01 m3 hardtop 6 speed, 190k for 18 grand

For anyone looking for a e39 m5 driver this one doesn't seem ridiculously priced. One owner, $16.5k for 190k, seller says it has replaced engine by the dealership 95k ago. Although seller says there was an incident on the highway which blew 2 tires and underside damage that supposedly fixed by dealer. The vin number shows it to be a 2001 model(seems odd that the owner is advertising it as a 2000), and a Canadian car.

This one is a way better deal If someone wants to go across Canada. This is the cheapest m3 I have ever seen with this spec and 2006, 6mt, 92kms for 20k. This car could sell for a lot more than his asking price.

If anyone's looking for a cheap off-roader. I've always loved these FJs, so sad they got discontinued.

https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/nvn/...470361001.html

Very high mileage but if all maintenance checks out (owner claims comp test was 160psi for all cyl), it shouldn't be an issue. Also mostly highway miles. My Element was also 350,000kms+ with 80% highway miles it's whole life, zero leaks anywhere, didn't burn a single drop of oil and comp test also came out perfect.

Saw that one, was not sure about csx reliability. Heard there were a few issues?

vitaminG 02-05-2018 07:13 AM

^ it's mechanically identical to a civic si, I dont think there would be any major issues that are CSX specific

immorality 02-05-2018 07:23 AM

Wow, that's super cheap!

My '08 CSX has been fine apart from a random seized caliper.

CL typeS 02-05-2018 08:34 AM

Some csx have required transmission rebuilt, wouldnt say its common tho, but i've seen it happen a few times.

That one has a few accidents, and some unknown claim history. Looks like a decent buy, but as always do a thorough check for sure

gramser57 02-05-2018 08:38 AM

That CSX would be perfect for a FD2-R conversion.

The CSX' does not have the limited slip however, which on a FWD car is a massive difference.

There are problems with 3rd gear, it's pretty common. Mine doesn't like shifting at high rpm either. There's a TSB for it, but now all these cars are long out of warranty, so it's expensive to fix. TSB 08-020 - Transmission Grinds When Shifting Into 3rd Gear, Pops Out of 3rd Gear, or Is Hard to Shift Into 3rd Gear

It does if it's a Type-S and yes, it is a massive difference!! It's why I went with a CSX-S instead of an RSX-S.

Is there a way to get cheap power from them?

I went to check this one out. Seems like a straight up guy he's had it for quite a few years now and it seems like it's only been serviced at dealerships. Paint is decent. Only thing is that it has one rust spot on the bottom of the trunk. Drove fine, it has a really short SSK. But overall clean car inside out.

It was listed at $8800. Apparently he's found a Venza that he's looking to purchase for his kid that's on the way that's why it's dropped down to $7000 now.
