Not a "Craigslist" good buy, but not sure where to post this and didn't think it's worthy of a new thread.
Approximately 60 jugs remaining at the Walmart in PoCo when I was there at 7:00PM tonight (about half was 5w20 and half 5w30). They're 4.73 liter jugs. Not sure if they're available at other Walmart locations.
Way more technologically significant than the RS200 or any Group B car for that matter.
So many new technologies went into this car in the early 80s and it's still the only car to ever win both the Paris-Dakar Rally and the 24h of Le Mans.
The car was extremely limited production (Porsche only made enough to meet homologation requirements) and was never sold in North America. Only several made their way to North America with Bill Gates buying 2. This car inspired Gates and other high-end car collectors to lobby for rules changes regarding ultra-rare cars (The "Show and Display" law), allowing them to pass through customs and be driven for limited purposes.
I was too lazy to type out more about it
I will say the 959 was up there with Countach and F40 for posters that lined kid's walls in the 80s
That Test Drive II video brought back so many memories I'd long forgotten about. The amount of detail they drew those cars in with such a crap medium back then... wow...
^ That music gets me right in the feels. I also remember the frustration of rear ending so many damn cars when you think you missed them!
I think that game was the first time I saw an F40

10k landed? that's crazy. Never seen one that cheap. Saw one come across Ray's for 17k landed (approx) + inspections and tax just this week.
The black one above is my friends car (not my old car). I can vouch for it, as I inspected it before he bought.
I would not hesitate to buy it if I had room. I loved my R32, and didn't own it long enough. Best sounding car I ever owned. I just don't have enough room in the stable for this one (although I nearly convinced the wife to daily it)
These cars will cost more that 17k for clean examples in the near future.

I have a hard time believing
A) that the white car isn't missing an engine for that price
B) that you have any chance of being able to still purchase it for 8k if it does in fact have an engine and exist

^ with the second car are you gonna sell your 330 for a gutted out track car to daily?
And with out of province... my friend who leased an F30 328 when he was at McGill drove it just one winter and told me it was already looking pretty bad under there. I would just stick with Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

I purchased a car from Montreal. I went out to see / drive it / chat with the owner to get a sense of how fastidious (or otherwise) he was about maintenance. PPI for peace of mind. Also, track cars are typically well maintained. Don't rule it out but do your homework.

Would you want to daily a car with no AC, no heat, no handbrake and no airbags? I think this will stay as a track only car. He's says he's trading for a stock m3 + cash on his side so I think it's not road legal.
Also is it just me, or does this thing look lifted? someone desperately needs to give this car a good drop.
Ride height is adjustable on the C5s from the factory. You can drop that 2" by just turning some bolts. I have seen that car, it's a nice example, but as an 01 has potential oil burning issues and is missing a few hp from the 2002-2004.
