Its not on CL, but here. With the couple guys that picked up e46 m3s recently, this is a very good option.

with one of the front damper shafts bent, i would suggest they're rather overpriced.

Think so? It says that a mechanic can bend it back, and they are pretty high quality coils. Buying another shock worst case scenario would still only set you back another 200. Fair enough though I'd pay more for new sans damage.

The seller suggests a mechanic would be able to bend it back with brute force but it would never be bent sufficiently straight with such an imprecise technique. The proper way to fix it would be to replace the damper shaft, which Bilstein charges $80 (parts and labour) + shipping to do. But that only addresses the damage that is apparent. The damper is likely equally damaged, so I would budget to rebuild it, which be another $200. The buyer also needs to buy a new spanner, which is $15 or so. That all said, by the time they're in working condition, you'll be hitting close to $1400 for well-used $2000 coilovers, which are wear items... not a good deal.

The mechanic also recommended heat on a damper, I really wouldn't trust that mechanic to do anything. There's also no mention of the mileage on them, so even if you replace the one damper you've now got 1 brand new damper and 3 old ones that may not last very long, if you can get them cheap enough and do the labour yourself that might not be too bad but if you're paying a shop to install them + alignment when the old 3 start to go it'll get pricey fast.

looked like the car suffered from a heavy rear ender and had one whole side re painted. drove great though.

Chiming in on the Bilstein's I have listed for sale, I realize they are probably overpriced and have dropped the price accordingly. IMO, listing mileage on a set of used coilovers is pointless as you have to take the seller's word for it given that there is no real way of telling how long they've been ran for. What I do know, is that after the coilovers were removed from the car as it was a lease, they have sat on a shelf for the past 4-5 years until recently when he asked me to help him sell it. I have no idea how the shock was bent. I can't personally speak for the credentials of the mechanic who said that it could probably be straightened out, but like others have said, if all else fails, send it back to Bilstein for $250 + shipping, or send all of them back to be rebuilt to personal specifications.

I appreciate that you accepted the criticism of Underscore and I without contempt. I think the current price is fair.

1994 Toyota Supra Anthracite 5-Speed 2JZ NA

this supra has been up on craigslist for a long time now, the price keeps dropping by a couple hundred here and there....has anyone ever inquired on the vehicle? I don't want it, and the seller may be asking more then its worth, but it certainly is a clean looking vehicle from the pictures.

NA+5speed supras arent worth much. Also, if this is the one i'm thinking of, only the exterior is painted, so all the jambs, engine bay etc are different color.
