I should add that my YJ was rebuilt, I believe it was stolen because I later found out the whole steering column wasn't correct for that year (not a big deal in something like that). The beater Tiburon I co-own is also a rebuilt but you can tell the entire skin of the one side of the car was replaced and then badly painted, that side also now has a fair bit of rust in odd places.

can a 11k NB ever be considered a good buy? I'd argue that it can with sub 50k kms, hard top and the high option 6 spd car. Most of the time "collector plate potential" is BS, but this could be if you hung onto it as is.

Personally - would not buy because not ze german but I'd consider this it if I was cross shopping high mile mazdaspeeds.

Without ABS and A/C I'd say that's a no. I sold my 2003 NB with ~116K on it that had everything (tan leather, ABS, LSD, A/C, hardtop, timing belt/pump, new tires and brakes) for $10,500 a year ago and felt I got a really good price on it.

If it had ABS and A/C (both surprisingly hard to find) I'd say it's worth it.

I'm not gonna say a $13.5k NB MSM is a gem or a good buy, but that Flyin Miata Little Enchilada kit makes a world of difference in the way the car behaves. In stock form, I find the MSM to be sorely lacking in a slew of different ways. But the FM kit addresses some of those biggest gripes, and I'd dare say that is how the engine ought to have come from the factory.
