Haven't checked it out but it's been on sale for nearly a year I think. Looks like it's in decent shape and definitely worth looking at.

The only downsides were that it was a pig on fuel (or so I thought @ 45c/L at the time) and rust (just started behind the top of the headlights). The former probably had a lot to do with the fact that I had a really heavy right foot.

There is an early 70s Datsun 240 or 260z (white exterior) down the road from my home. Has had a for sale sign in it for months. A real project with stripped interior and rust. If anyone is interested I can take a few pics and post them up.

seems like a good deal for a DD, rotors are $200-$300ish, do the work yourself and its like a $600-$700 car

Rotors are way cheaper but the labour to swap them out isn't as simple as other Hondas, since one has to remove the hubs to access them.

It's all about the 300TDs baby.

It's all about the 300TDs baby. | Hey guys.
Yes, as a matter of fact I came close to buying this exact car. I owned a USDM 1990 300TE, and it was a serious headache. This is a JDM import, and in very good condition overall. It hadn't been plated yet when I saw it, the Japanese guy who imported it clearly eventually sold it to the owner who has it listed.
Overall, it's in great shape, but man it's nice to have dodged a bullet with this one. Tranny issues are common with these wagons, but more common is the 4matic blowing up, like it did on mine. This is one of the first cars with 4matic I believe, but as a mechanic explained to me, Mercedes did a really shitty job designing it; cramming a 4wd system into a car that it wasn't really designed for. And what happens is the transfer case fails, and to rebuild it, you must remove it and ship it back east to Ontario, where it will cost you upwards of $3k to rebuild, then reinstall it. All in, more money than the car is worth.
And as c4 mentioned, it has self-levelling rear suspension, and on my car it was sagging, and is another pricey fix.
So this car having tranny issues now AND being a 4matic that will fail eventually, it's just not a good idea. It's a real shame because this car was in fantastic shape when I looked at it, and the M103 engine is one of the best engines Benz ever made. And the build quality everywhere else is phenomenal.
The holy grail is a W124 300TD with manual transmission: a Benz diesel with a manual tranny? Fuck yeah. Never sold in north America. But I saw one on CL around when I bought mine going for $15k, while other 300TE's go for $4k.
To this day I miss that wagon, even though it was a nightmare. I still want to find a good one day...
My car, in its (brief) prime:
