I think that could be the reason for the great price. The cost of parts on these cars is astronomical.Plus, it's still really expensive to insure an Aston. Yearly cost of ownership on an 11 year old British car would be over $10k, and that's not counting gas.
A V8 Vantage is one of my dream cars, but I have a feeling that by the time I can afford the car and the maintenance they'll be most collectable and the only ones I'd be able to buy are money pits.
I wonder if I could just rent one for a week or something. I know it'd be pricey but I'm guessing still cheaper overall vs buying one and paying the taxes and maintenance and then selling it quickly before my wife starts seriously considering leaving me.

I had a 2006 AM V8 Vantage manual trans for a bit back in 2010-ish. It was slow as fuck and drove like shit considering what the car is. My friends ML550 roasted it in a 40 - 140 roll like it was nothing.
Guys, I have owned my 2010 AMV8 6sp for 5yrs now. This is when Ford owned Aston. Believe it or not, maintenance is quite normal compared to any M3, AMG, etc. The common really expensive problems is the shitty clutch (mine went at 20k kms) and the expensive pads and rotors $3K. I have put over 20K kms on my car and it has been super reliable. Set aside $5-10K (depends if you want to upgrade the clutch to the V12) and you are good to go. I would try to save up and get a 2009 or newer with the 4.7L. Makes a big difference. Also, don't buy an auto, they are complete shit.
The AMV8 doesn't handle the best, is not that fastest, but every time I take it out, it feels really special, it just makes you feel really kool driving it......way more than I do in my R8 or 991.....my two cents......oh yeah I forgot....they are drop dead gorgeous......

Holy fucking shit the colour helps and already insane car. I think that era of Aston is the pinnacle of classic car design modernized. Flowing curves and sharp edges alike, it truly looks like it was designed pen to paper. Elements of the 60s supercars with modern touches. It’s a design that certainly, with me, evokes some kind of emotion just seeing it.

^ the interior is just as impressive as the exterior....some times even more....the leather they use is nothing I have even seen in bmws, porsches, or mercs....different level of suppleness. All the switch gear feels like high end audio equipment knobs.
Westopher, like I have said before, I would be happy to let you take it out when I ever bump into you man! haha!

Not many, but sometimes the pricing on these olds cars just doesn't make sense ... to me, anyways.
Like, last year, I saw a Pontiac Sunbird for $9000 on Autotrader. And, it's just like ... why? It was never a desirable model, it wasn't historically significant, it wasn't rare. I just can't picture anyone dropping $9k on something like that.
I guess this one at least has the top trim level going for it.
I don't know about Vancouver, but J bodies were THE most popular car around Duncan by a mile when I was in high school and university ('98-'05). Z24s were very common, 5 of my friends had one, and obviously substantially more people I knew but didn't hang out with had them, but I can only think of one guy I knew who actually really liked his (he also dumped 10s of thousands into modifying it).
It was basically seen as a poor man's Mustang/F-Body/Integra/Prelude/240SX. Most people got them because they were cheap, parts were cheap and plentiful at the junk yard, and everyone could either perform basic repairs on them themselves or knew someone who would do it for a pack of smokes or a 12-pack.

I’ll send you a message and figure out a time that works for you. I’ll bring the coffee and the camera. I’d never claim to be a good photographer, but I’m better than terrible. I’m bound to get one good shot of your car that you’d be happy with haha.

If I ever were to own an Aston Martin, I picture myself wearing a suit getting out of that vehicle just because of the way the exterior is designed compared to say a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Just my opinion
