A great deal of shame when people find out its 170k and rebuilt

The mileage is 170k, and the sell price is $42,000.
That's not a bad deal at all for an R8 considering clean 08' go for mid to high $90's. Baller on a budget right there.

^This one is for sale in Quebec. Rebuilt status with 68,000km.
$68,900

What're maintenance costs going to be like on a 170k Audi though?

freakshow 05-30-2018 09:50 AM

probably a lot.. but if you compare to the one hypa posted, you're saving around 30k.
Would you spend $30k over the course of 100k kms in an R8? not sure.. could be close

Manic! 05-30-2018 10:10 AM

The price of the Audi R8 has been reduced to $38500. Owner says it just was fully serviced and inspected at Audi.

afadafa 05-30-2018 10:37 AM

Anyone have the link to the R8?

Probably not too bad, considering the car is still a VW.
There are a lot of shared parts in the first gen R8. Some from pedestrian VW models, others come from the Lamborghini bin. While the transaxle is a shared component as seen below.

Gen1 R8.

Z3guy 05-30-2018 07:37 PM

sure you could be buying a ticking timebomb because of rebuilt status and 170k kms... but for $38.5K? that is a good deal for exoticish car!

Manic! 05-30-2018 08:45 PM

As long as the car was mechanically sound someone got a sore dick deal and a youtube channel idea. "I bought the cheapest R8 in North America"

Interesting to watch SiR prices call down. Plenty of choices and no buyers.

1988 Toyota Tercel - didn’t know these came as 5-door hatchbacks, most I’d seen were coupes or 3-doors.

I've always loved these cars. And at 104k kms, it's a great deal.

68style 06-01-2018 09:47 AM

Why buy a RHD car that’s available in LHD here though

tofu1413 06-01-2018 09:49 AM

The EVO seem to be such a rare car in Canada. Not that I have really looked, as I was a Subaru guy. But I was always amazed that the EVOs could make so much power so easily, compared to the STi.

Sad about the rhd though. I didn't notice that, as I was searching craigslist for a 1965 Impala. I still don't know how the EVO came up in my search :chairdance:

I might be wrong, but I think the Evo X was the first one you could buy in Canada (even then I imported mine from the US)
