PST - 7%
GST - 5%
Import duty - 6.1% (for any car built in a non-NAFTA country, the S2000 would require import duty paid)
RIV fee - $295
AC Tax - $100 (if it has AC)

That's it, it's an easy process, I've done it. The only thing that sucks is that the USD/CAD exchange rate is so bad right now it really diminishes a lot of the benefit.

I just did quick search on Seattle Craigslist for S2000. Most of reasonable priced are either Rebuilt or Salvage title. There must be some gems hiding there but definitely not a ton of them.

Kinda off topic, but is a brand new Sparco F200 seat with slider rails for $700 a decent deal?

There's also a fee for an ITN number, then the OOP inspection costs. If you're driving it up you'll also need WA highway insurance and ICBC binder of insurance to drive it from the border to your shop/home

I drove a car back from Tennessee, Temp tags were about $30 and my ICBC binder was about $50 it wasn’t much. As I recall, the RIV fee covered the inspection. I paid for an OOP inspection on a car I bought from Ontario because no RIV fee paid. I could be wrong on that for a US import though, it was about 10 years ago I did it. I didn’t have to pay for an ITN number or recall clearance letter.

Looks great in silver. The body lines are accentuated that much more.

I'd purchase that over an M3 anyday!

Doesn’t that have the Satan-designed V8?

Dirt cheap rebuilt NSX in Laval QC, could probably grind them down another 5K.

They have pictures of the damage before repair according to the listing.

I've heard the 420hp version of the audi 4.2 doesn't have same timing chain tensioner issue

it's not so bad.. you only have to do carbon cleaning for $1k every year, brakes only cost $2k+ due to the floating 2pc rotors, it eats tires like they're nothing, and it gets a solid 20.5L/100km in the city..

At what point do you walk away from a car with some accident history?

Drove a car tonight. 16 years old, clean title. Drives nice and 100% stock. Ran Carproof and has a $3000 claim from 2017 and a $4400 claim from 2018. This is on a ~4K car. Been keeping an eye out for a while and this was the cleanest I’ve seen. But I mean... it’s a car I’d like to keep for years.

Hold out for an even cleaner one? Or keep it and track rat it if need be

I'm not sure how the car in question would escape a "rebuilt" status if the repairs are that close in value to the value of the car...
