That's what I thought too. But the 98' still had the popup lights. I think that most people associate the exterior update to be the jump to NA2. I know that's what confused me about those specific years.
NA1 and NA2 refer to the VINs of the nsx. an NSX VIN starts with JH4NA?....
NA1 (91-96) = 3.0L C30A
NA2 (97+) = 3.2L C32B
technically.. i think automatic 97+ still use the NA1 engine.. but thats another level on confusion..

Ahhh. Now that makes sense, although as you said the confusion is strong when it comes to the NSX pedigree.

Anyone want to buy my 996.2 C4S?
I think this car came up a week or two ago. We determined that it was a great price of entry into the luxury market. However, the cost of ownership was the negative. Parts, maintenance, insurance, fuel, etc.
That said, badhobs did a good job of explaining the joy of Aston ownership.
Details:
- 2000 S2000 Silverstone metallic

- 6 speed
- Canadian Vehicle
- only driven occasionally

Some believe that the 97-01 NA2 is the true unicorn as it has the 3.2L and 6 speed yet retains the flippy lights for nostalgia. The 02+ has a polarizing fan base as some love it and others hate it.
Spoiler!

Not my favorite wheels but easily changed. Guards red on a black is a nice combo. Bonus that is has hard back sport seats.
