Congrats simplex! With a little TLC maybe collector plates?

That silver ap1 was posted on here a week or two ago. I think it was in Courtenay and has the same pictures.

They might have just relisted on CL Vancouver for more exposure. Common practice for island sellers.

I can't remember what header that EM1 has but I have a stock manifold and shield.

Thanks everyone. Pretty happy with the way it is right now. I haven't driven a completely stock EM1, but what would the stock header do for me? It sounds really sweet when vtec kicks in right now especially with the intake.

Just went for a Porteau Cove run. Handling-wise it performed way better than I had expected. When I pushed it within the city today the tires squealed at every turn since they are all seasons, but even then, it was extremely competent on the sea 2 sky and in the tight twisties. Very impressed. Definitely thinking of purchasing some summers for it though.

One other complaint I have for the car is the SSK that the most recent owner installed.. He told me that the shifting has become very sloppy so he put this in. I find it not only to be extremely notchy but also very low. I need to almost lean down to shift. May be looking to replacing that with an OEM shifter.

I think it needs to be 1/1500 worldwide to qualify for 15 years old

In my old em1, I used a shifter extension to bring the knob closer to the wheel. I believe I have that and the OEM shifter lying around somewhere.

any idea what this dude is doing? who's got a burner phone to call the (now) 778 number?

fliptuner 06-20-2018 10:22 AM

@simplex. Only reason for the stock header is since the car is mostly stock and if you want collector plates and for resale.

For the two civics I have owned in the past, nothing beats this shifter for adjustability and build quality. The shifting was buttery smooth when I installed new bushings at the same time.

stock header just adds more to the stock factor, but the nice thing is it has a heat shield on it, keeps the engine bay temps down on hot days.

oem dual bend from an integra will do wonders.

the car deserves a set of those firestone indy 500 tires.. and you'd have yourself an awesome summer car.

its currently on all weathers.... and it was fantastic in the cold wet and sleet. you've gotten yourself a great SIR man.

I have no clue is this is a good buy/price, but it's a 300hp AWD Volvo with a manual trans so it's pretty sweet https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/...620777809.html

Didn't know that gen of GS' could be had for under 4k :lawl:. I'm guessing it's probably nearing some maintenance schedule + very high mileage. Good price nevertheless

I definitely don't see V70Rs go for that cheap normally. This one even has the extremely rare 6 speed as well.

Factory Brembos and Ohlins all around and AWD... thing is a monster.

True, the R's aren't as cheap as the non-R versions, but then again even at 12k it's still overpriced. To bring it up to snuff cosmetically and mechanically, you'll need about another 4-5k.

As for the suspension, I don't see anywhere in the AD that it has Ohlin suspension? Just the front 4C struts have been replaced (roughly $500 USD per corner, parts only).

Price has been dropped about 2k since listing. Still doesn't make it a "good buy"

!Aznboi128 06-21-2018 08:28 AM

^ And let's be honest it's missing the orange seats

The 4C struts were developed alongside Ohlins (as per wiki)... if its co-developed or a full-on Ohlins spec part number I'm not sure.

^^Man that Atacama interior though... would definitely have gotten the orange.

This may have already been posted since the ad is 6 days old but I didn't see it in the last two pages

https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/...618690123.html

Seems like a fair price with the remainder of the third party warranty left, hopefully the timing chain issues would happen within the warranty period. Looks like it's in good condition and Imola yellow is a nice color
