id say its a bit different as there are many differences between a type r and a gsr beyond the motor like chassis upgrades etc. if someone swapped an integra gs with a b18c i would have any issue with them calling it a gsr.

in this case the car is functionally and visually identical to an e36 m3, its more than an engine swap its suspension and body panels. its a clone its priced very reasonably, i dont really see the problem

Not a terrible price as the mileage is low enough to make this a pretty clean example. It's an LS1 car, not LS2 though.

Can u explain what's wrong with the 'S'? What tends to breakdown?

This one looks pretty cheap, besides the fact it's auto

I would say that is much better than "not a terrible price", that's a legit CL good buy!

transmission issues on both manual and automatics. I believe there was a lawsuit years ago as well with these older r53 models

Not the right place to post that, but i think you got a solid deal and long as the build quality is there. You could not be built for less. Older imports are going up in price. People thought it was crazy I was able to get $4500 for my old Civic hatch.

This pic tho:drunk:

I'd say the previous owner definitely spent the $$$ to do things right. I wouldn't be surprised if it was featured in like superstreet in 2006. What else could you do to it now that everything looks like it's been upgraded??

2000 NB Miata for $3900 w/o a hardtop. Has anyone checked this car out in person? Could either be a steal, or a complete pile. It's been listed for weeks.

Yeah he says he spent 50k+ (I found his post from early 2000s on Honda-tech)

He ran low 11's in it and the guy he sold it to ran 10s. I bought it off some guy who I don't think had any idea about cars, cause it's lacking maintenance for sure...

Both rear calipers were seized = no hand brake

The oil pan has some leaks it seems and I may need to replace

The turbo has an oil leak as well

Oil gauge not reading properly

Other than that, the car runs like a champ!

It has a street tune about 440whp and it also came with an alternative config on a chip. Puts it into the 600whp, but then I need to run slicks and race fuel.

It's in surprisingly great shape. My plan is to restore it to this guys original vision and keep that going. This build is pretty much what I wanted out of a Prelude back in the day and as I got older, it was a CRX that I ultimately wanted. But the EG series is beautiful.

Unfortunately - I have like 0 knowledge about cars. Fortunately, this car isn't rocket science. The motor seems pretty basic and easy to maintain/repair. So any 30 minute job takes me like 4 hours lol...

it's a toy

Good for you man. I've never like the attitude where people shame others buying their modded toys over building them. Total respect to people who have the means to build these crazy cars, but not everyone has the knowledge or money to do it.

You work hard for your money. Buy something you like and enjoy it. Tinker, break, learn, etc.

As long as someone still calls it a clone, sure. But in my experience a lot of people make clones and call it the real deal. Half of them only have a few of the cosmetic bits and that's it, and almost none of them actually have all the parts. This has happened a lot with my GTFour and I find it a bit insulting to the owners of authentic ones when someone is passing off their half-assed clone as real.
