i think he bought it a few months ago to flip it - it's back down to the previous sellers asking price now so I guess it didn't work out too well

Nice car - somedays I almost convince myself to get a boxster. Then I give my head a shake and know I'd always regret not getting a 996

Best case scenario, it’s someone who works at a dealer who bought it at trade in cost, then is selling it privately after to pocket the couple thousands. Almost bought a focus SVT a few months ago that way but it had a bunch of recent accidents, don’t know how it wasn’t totalled. He was greedy and sold to someone who probably didn’t Carproof it

I saw that too but I figure Company of Cars is on the mid-high end of used car dealers and probably isn't curbing cars (but you never know.) The guy may have saved the pics from the ad when he bought it and used them for his ad. The lighting is certainly better than the dingy exposure in photo 2, which he may have taken.

Traum 08-23-2018 11:16 AM

For a 987 BS priced that low, I'd be suspicious. There has to be a reason for such a low price.

Energy 08-23-2018 12:54 PM

That's such a good deal if everything checks out. Boxsters are amazing to drive.

bcrdukes 08-23-2018 12:56 PM

IMS Bearing failure :troll:

Energy 08-23-2018 01:10 PM

2006 has the larger bearing. Not an issue like 2005 and earlier. Even if it was an 05 or earlier or a 996 then treat it as a maintenance item and just get it fixed for the peace of mind and enjoy the car.

bcrdukes 08-23-2018 01:39 PM

IMS is overrated.

Energy 08-23-2018 01:44 PM

Very true

bcrdukes 08-23-2018 01:45 PM

I've got 136K on my motor on the original IMS. For the price I got the car, I'm okay if it fails. Probably worth more as parts, and recently put on some Koni Special Active shocks. But so far, enjoying it every day. :fuckyea:

daval 08-23-2018 01:47 PM

Anyone from here actually checked out that boxster today?

Fix the IMS when you get the clutch done haha.

bcrdukes 08-23-2018 03:20 PM

The clutch was done....before it was cool to replace IMS. :okay:

$7k for a regular Integra? Is that really a good deal?

vitaminG 08-24-2018 08:01 AM

how many clean, low km integra GSR you see for sale? what you think its worth?

prudz 08-24-2018 08:28 AM

I wouldn't say it's a good deal price wise but it is a good deal for what it is. 121k with the timing belt recently done and a clean gsr body/motor that isn't burning a litre of oil every fill up is worth $7k to someone. This is assuming you really want an Integra.

On similar theme with that GSR...

Ehhh, kind of a good buy? Not sure the production numbers in this spec.

Would be a good buy if the seller was actually motivated to sell. Left 2 emails on separate accounts (incase one went to spam) with my phone number yesterday. No reply.

Traum 08-24-2018 11:35 AM

I obviously dunno these cars. But $16.5k for a 10 yrs old car with 110k odo seems a touch expensive?

BrokenEuro 08-24-2018 12:22 PM

1999 Civic SiR (EM1), 218k km, clean title, recent clutch/timing belt/water pump.

If its not a Type R then I don't think I'd pay more than $5k for a clean one and that's already a bit generous. But maybe the 90's nostalgia makes that guy's asking price worth it to some people.
