I would do the same but not to whip up a bidding competition. If it's my day off, I'm not going to waste the entire day setting up separate appointments at different times for a bunch of people who may or may not show up. I'll set one time (or a timeframe) and whoever is interested will show up then. It'll either sell at that time or it won't and I'll have time to go and do something else with my day (like go buy another car).

SkunkWorks 09-13-2018 07:42 PM

Somewhat related but anyone want to group buy a Carfax report?

Friend and I are looking to get separate reports but it's significantly cheaper if you buy either the 3 or 6 report option.

Got a few days till we need it so PM me if you want in.

Red Civic is sold (not to me lol just advising)

- Engine air filter
- Brake fluid flush
- Drive belts due for replacement
- He says he thinks the timing belt was done at 96,000 or so but not sure
- Radiator upper and lower hoses due for replacement
- Tune up (distibutor cap, spark plug wires, fuel filter)
- Front brakes pads are low and rotors rusted
- Rear brakes pads are low and rotors done
- Oil leaks from valve cover gasket, oil pan and rear main seal

So... yah... ouch... needs a good $2,000+ of work

Not gonna lie, that list tempts me to pick up another project car as those things are pretty straight forward to me but time, money and space is not on my side lol. Forwarded to my brother as he's interested in learning manual, seems like a good car to learn on and have fun.

sigh...there are no more pick n pull DIY junkyards anymore in the lower mainland. Cheap parts are hard to come by. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

I went to the Pick a Part in Chilliwack last month. Spent almost 3 hours there lol. I don't go there super often but the prices seemed to be higher than I was used to seeing.

The joys of driving a 25 year old car. I called a dealership just for part numbers and he told me right away to 'go up north'. I should do that.

I got a 96 honda prelude srv you can forward to your brother. It has 200hp/160tq, its much more fun to learn manual and the vtec hits stronger than the Sir :D

cheaper too!

It does require it to be removed and it is actually an extremely easy process. Again, you can pop a transmission off of one of these in under an hour with basic tools. Even if you just have a general idea on how to work on cars they can be done in an afternoon.

even if I don't mess anything up it'll probably take most of a weekend haha

Em1 thread

The $2500 one is gone too. Anyone attend the live auction?

BIC_BAWS 09-14-2018 08:27 PM

Not a car, but car parts. All of you should have heard of Ohlins. There's a set of track ready coilovers available for $2200 for 1M, E92 M3 or E90 M3. Man I wish, there were great deals like these for the E46.

Ohlins R&T Coils - $2200

2009 Mazda Miata MX-5 GT - PORT MOODY $15,500 | autoTRADER.ca

2009 Miata GT PRHT.

Great price for this. I checked it out last week and was going to make an offer before deciding that I want to keep saving for a Boxster/Cayman. Good condition, owner did most of his own work on it. Just needs all it's fluids changed and it's really to roll.

Most NC2 PRHT have been selling around $17-18K lately and I think he'll take $14,500.
