*edit: It has to be a Japanese gauge cluster... mileage must be totally fake then or just the mileage for the engine from when he bought his swap and not the chassis mileage. Buyer beware.
Also as an aside, there are no longer any matching tires available from any manufacturer for the MR2 stock 15” rims. Super annoying.

It is jdm cluster, as owner of 94 jdm turbo model. Even if you by wheels for couple of thousand you will be in 10k budget. Right now if you import 94+ from japan it would cost you not less then 10k... And you still can spend it on wheels. Like i did 2 years ago.
But atleast prices back then were lower. I'm bit sceptical about it. However, i am selling mine so i may have bias, lol

Apparently the highest bid for it now is $8500 with a lot of competing bids. This explains the $7k price, though the owner is frankly super misleading for posting the swapped ODO mileage... I'm too old for this shit.

May be there is a reason why you do not see his chrome wheels anymore. On chrome wheels photo the fog light is not damaged and OEM wheels it is. I would look for under body damage.

According to the owner, only a cracked front lip which is reflected on the asking price, however there is a bidding war going on which i do not have interest in partaking, given that the true kms of the body AND then engine are unknown. the owner states he has owned the car for 2 years and bought the car with the swap already done so i dont know what he could have spent an extra 8k on....

Then this is rediculus. You basically spend 10k (8.5 + 2k on a wheels). Then you do not know the milage + damage may be more serious. Naaah.

Thanks Ian!
And FYI, I'm not selling due to getting a VI in it lol. Listing has been in the works long before that.
Should be interesting to see how the "Canadian discount" will fare here given the fairly straight forward and laid out import process for cars over 25 years old.

You're welcome. A VI fire sale was my first thought but I could tell you were well prepared for the auction.
Fantastic presentation plus a clear and concise guide to help Americans understand the importation process.

Would not say this is a good buy, but its a good read https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/...719220381.html Quote:
You're a risk-taker. You like going on adventures. Predictable is boring. That's why you want a car that will never give you what you expect. That's why you want Black Beauty -- my magic 2001 Acura 3.2 CL Type S.
Let's be clear: just like anyone who has just turned 17, Black Beauty acts like a piece of shit. She's got 313,000km on it. She whines like a teenager every time you hit the brakes or go in reverse. Every warning light on the dash is on. The radio, AC, and heat all work perfectly... in fact, sometimes they turn on even when you don't want them to.
But don't let that fool you! Because this car is magic. She'll do 0-60 in 6.4 seconds (I've done it). She'll make random noises one day and purr like a cat the next (I've heard it). And you can drive her without oil (don't ask me how I know that one).
YOU WILL NOT NEED TO MAINTAIN THIS CAR. This car maintains itself. At least, that's what I've been telling myself.
I once hit another car in a parking lot with Black Beauty*. By the time the owner got out, the damage was repaired, and he thanked me for my time. I know who I thanked. Black Beauty.
Black Beauty has power windows and a sunroof, both working. You'll need the windows so that some of the magic can be released into the open air. Otherwise, it might make you magic, and then you'll be ethically bound to a life of solving crime. Just a warning. Personally, I've never used the sunroof but I suspect that in case of an accident, you'll be ejected out by your seat. At this point, it wouldn't surprise me.
This car is in terrible shape. But she'll still change your life. $1000.
*I didn't actually hit anyone... Black Beauty has never been in an accident.

Hopefully the Optispark is working properly. Otherwise these things can run for a long long time.
