I've been looking at Lexus RX hybrids and I've noticed they are all being snatched up. There's only one 400h on Craig's and it's a rebuilt. Only like 3-4 450h's and some with dubious history. Looks like the 1.60 gas got people motivated to buy hybrids and electrics.
"Another quirky thing about the S2000 is that it has TWO seats but only ONE steering wheel" etc....
Agreed.
He did a review bashing a 1991 Yugo and comparing it to a Jag/Ferrari etc.
This thing wasn't much different than a Volvo 240 of the same time period.
Such an imbecile!
not necessarily a good buy, but man this is cool. V12 LWB 750 ! Don't see these often and the E38 is still the prettiest 7 to date imo.
I had a 01 E38 740i sport. Even though it had the v8 which was considered less problematic than the v12, the dollar cost per km just didn't make sense in the 2 years that I owned it. It averaged out to about 600-700 bucks in parts a month and lost a third of its value when I sold it. Cost of ownership for 2 years was about $900 a month. None of the money spent were mods or upgrades. Every part bought was to keep the thing running stock. I wrench on my own cars. It would be considerably more if I factor in my own labour. I think keeping the v12 alive and the extra gadgets working in the rear of the long wheel base won't be cheap.
Old cars are great to look at, but a PITA to work on and own. I guess that's why my E30 has been sitting mostly untouched in the garage for 2 years now.

I spent a lot of the last 7 years completely overhauling the mechanicals of an old car to try and make it as mechanically sound as it originally was. I keep having to talk myself out of buying another old car because I have even less time now and I don't really want to take several decades to get it on the road.

Splendid Auto car. Can tell by the photography and that demo plate. I wonder if it could belong to the owner of the company?
I drive a 20 & 25 year old car. If you buy an older car, I'd recommend something that sold in higher volume. Would be easier to source parts. Anything electrical though
Unfortunately, I have to replace door trim on one of my cars and need to either go through ebay which is $$$ or drive up north

From what I know through friends that work at Lexus, most Lexus owners also buy with cash or finance.. no 50 year old asian folks gonna be leasing and or selling it after a few years. They gonna drive it to the ground lol

True! My dad's 2008 rx400h has about 175k on it and never skipped a beat. That Prius Hybrid tech is pretty amazing stuff. He's averaging 8.7l/100km in the city and roughly 7 on highway. he mostly drives city so its working out pretty good for him and my ma.
Trying to find a newer one to buy the wife but none available..
