I find TheStraightPipes entertaining and from a canadian perspective too. I now do the visor test in every damn car I get into because of them.

vitaminG 10-16-2018 03:26 PM

I don't anything can compete with savage geese. They are by far the most in depth auto reviews, what other YouTuber puts cars up on a lift and goes over all the suspension components with a mechanic

Sexy. Is it really worth that kind of money ? I just don't think it'll ever turn into a Toyota 2000gt kind of car. Maybe already peaked in value since we are the only generation to idolize this car. Guys who grew up in the 80s or the late 2000's ain't going to give a shit about this

At $170k, he can keep it.

welfare 10-16-2018 06:28 PM

Problem with that is its the type of car i wouldn't even be able to enjoy (If i could even afford it). Other than looking at it everyday in the garage.
I'd be too worried some jagoff would blow through a stop sign and destroy its original mintiness.
Or even put a door ding in it.
It's just too clean, original and rare

Badhobz 10-16-2018 06:56 PM

why wouldn't you just get a regular R34 GTR? the performance difference is negligible. A regular GTR34 is going for what? 60-70k?

What an awesome car though, and so incredibly rare.

I got you covered

Maybe not the best buy but an interesting find. Facelift 335i 6MT RWD with LSD in an inoffensive color and stealthy package. I test drove a couple 335i before I bought my E90 M3. The abs induced fake lsd really neutered the car. Especially something like this with decent torque. Very interested in how this 335i will compare against a stock M3 on the track.

Same reason people want a 964rs over a 964.
4x the already ridiculous price for missing A/C, some ropes for door handles and 3k worth of Recaro pole positions. I'd do it if I could.
Its rare, its cool, and some people have money to burn. You should know that hobz, aren't you buying a ranch with a train on it or something?:troll:

It's a beauty, see that car parked in my condo parkade.

Also worth mentioning its an n55, I'm not sure how much more reliable it is than the n54 cars but it can't be any worse. Pretty rare to see an n55 6 speed too, most of the 6 speed sedans seem to be early e90 cars

I don't think it's even close to being a best buy, the price is way too high. The low km is not enough to justify. I sold my manual E92 335i RWD, stock, perfectly maintained, no issues at 100,000km for $14000. Even at this price it took me 4 months. The market is flooded with E9x, plus, E90 always worth less than E92s (Coupe). There just isn't enough enthusiasts out there to buy these cars. Too much supply, low demand.

There's even a 2012 f30 6 speed for less and is been for sale for months.

In the T&C of a lot of press vehicles there's lines that states we're not allowed to do certain things. A few of them states no lifts, no obd hardware, no off road, no track etc. But I guess when you got a bigger following they just let you do whatever.

I think I'm one of those people who are really specific with options and mods. When I looked for e90 e92 335i. It was hard to find the spec I wanted although there were so many for sale. I didn't want nav, or the premium stuff. I only wanted 6mt and m sport. The car had to be local, no accident, black interior. Exterior in black, white, silver, gray only. Ideally no sunroof, but I don't think it was possible to order without in Canada. I gave up and bought a e90 m3. I sold my m3 because it had sunroof. I'm currently on the hunt for a US spec e90 m3 6mt, no nav, LCI , without sunroof. I'd pay premium for the right spec'd car.

I think most people are a bit more flexible than that, I bought my current F32 based on a great deal, ya, it has nav and sunroof, which I didn't want, but its RWD not X drive, which is impossible to find for any local BC BMW now and it has the passive M sport suspension, Melborune red, the most rare color, and being a great deal on top, I bought it, the good outweigh the bad by far, I believe that's how most people will make the decision.

Not necessary a "good buy", but wow... 2003 BMW Z8

Very rare Z8 collectors car only 500 ever made! James Bond 007 super car. Car and Driver magazine tested the car and found that it outperformed the contemporary benchmark Ferrari 360 Modena in three important performance categories: acceleration, handling and braking.

Any one else really upset when the z8 was in bond, all it got was the chopped up scene?

Jmac 10-17-2018 07:46 PM

I was upset that it wasn't British ...

This. I've got some BMW clientele that are exactly that. will pay the premium for a exact spec (even if it doesnt make sense compared to rest of market)

Certain colors, certain interiors and certain configurations (no sunroof, 2wd, 6mt only... etc)

that 335i might be pricey, but bound to fit the bill for someone out there... got some guys that detest the F3x gen and still prefer the E9x gen....
