I don't recall that gen having a Type-S variant.

Hakkaboy 10-29-2018 10:54 AM

Technically the SH-AWD version was the more performance oriented one. 3.7L vs 3.5L of the FWD version

Not much money for a hilarious amount of fun (and headaches)... interior needs a bit of love but the outside looks nice:

$3900 for a Dodge Stealth R/T TT

JDMDreams 10-29-2018 12:40 PM

Does that gen tl still have transmission issues? I've sat in one and felt the transmission was jerky

tofu1413 10-29-2018 12:42 PM

they were a bit better supposedly.

No type S variant, but i believe they did an A spec version on the side.

base, premium, tech and elite packages. 6MT came with SH AWD only

If you don't mind having an external screen (ie not built into the headunit) I put one in my Jeep for a whopping $50. You have to connect 1 wire and run 1 cable so even if you pay a shop to do it I can't see it being more than a couple hundred bucks.

That's a lot of car for the money, but also generally regarded as the second hardest engine bay to work in (first being the 300ZX TT). So you better have a lot of spare time or a lot of spare cash if you want to drive it much.

This seems pretty cheap for a fuel saver. How much are batteries for them?

2,000 on Rock Auto, plus 1,200 if you don't send your core back... not too bad!

Believe that the design was adjusted in 2006 for transmissions mated to the J32 and J35... the number of vehicles reporting issues after the redesign is dramatically less than before 2006.

I read extensively about the issue and others' experiences when I had a 2002 CL a couple years ago. Otherwise a fantastic car!

Not sure if this one has it, but most were fitted with NOS from the factory (in the wake of the Fast and Furious movies). Great condition in pics. Kinda gaudy to look at now, but in a few years it may be worth something.

https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/...725380698.html

Couldn’t help but look into it more. Saleen made 88 focus examples like this, so it’s pretty rare. Issue is, at the time it was almost $30,000usd (8k more than the SVT) yet still was based on the Lowe zx3. So 5 spd instead of the 6spd, rear drum brakes etc. They all came with a nitrous setup but uninstalled. Electronics were all there but you had to fill the bottle and setup the main lines (about an hour of work) but would void your warranty. Even the big scoop is non functional (lifted from the mustang gt).

This example is straight from the saleen factory, including paint, that ugly graphic, those awful wheels etc. If someone was a ford collector it would be a pretty great time capsule and conversation piece. Otherwise as an actual car I never ever would.

It's no wonder Steve Saleen jumped ship. I wouldn't want my name on that.

Someone is giving away their blobeye STI with 100xxx

Quote:

Looking to give this away to someone in need. Recently just bought a new car and know the struggle of needing a car and not having the money. It runs great, just got new tires for it in August. New windshield wipers, got a full interior clean done as well as engine inspection with oil change and all necessary liquid top ups. The full works. The only problem is the horn doesn't work and the radio could need a replacement. If you feel this is the perfect car for you, please send me a paragraph explaining why you need the car and I will pick my favourite answer.

If this real, this would be a dope great act of kindness. (Also a pretty good buy if you need it)

320icar 10-30-2018 07:05 PM

Inb4 it was just a fake STi eating a burrito weird

whitev70r 10-30-2018 07:13 PM

Very kind indeed ... he could probably sell it for market value and get 2 decent Civic/Corolla to give away ... just being nitpicky ... other 2004 STI is listing for like $15K.

nsx042003 10-30-2018 07:27 PM

google search came up with a few matches. It's most likely fake.

Someone said he or his friend was the PO. Was meticulously maintained at that time. Current owner offered to sell it back to the PO. But PO doesn't want more BMW probs.

Let me see if I can find the post. Or maybe I heard this elsewhere.
