Technically the SH-AWD version was the more performance oriented one. 3.7L vs 3.5L of the FWD version

Does that gen tl still have transmission issues? I've sat in one and felt the transmission was jerky

they were a bit better supposedly.
No type S variant, but i believe they did an A spec version on the side.
base, premium, tech and elite packages. 6MT came with SH AWD only

I read extensively about the issue and others' experiences when I had a 2002 CL a couple years ago. Otherwise a fantastic car!
