but keep in mind the Evo's origins has roots to the old Group A race cars formula. The Evo 6 was a roll cage and stripped interior away from competition! |

BUT it has rally pedigree, factory Recaros and brembos 300tq at mid-range and 300hp from a 2L turbo is nothing to scoff at was more than adequate to compete with the rival rally cars and your suggested alternative is a rebadged Skyline that handles like a boat attracting the typical budget baller buddy guys...so much for your clown statement if 25k is overpriced for a clean low milage, unmolested example of a revered sports compact that's long out of production...it wouldn't have gone pending/sold after a few days |
people really seem to care a lot about the demographic of a vehicle huh. Almost as much as the vehicle itself. |
Saying a luxury sedan handles like a boat is kind of a moot point.. I'd argue Nissans V6 in the inifitys is a far more tested and reliable engine than a 2.0L turbo stretched to its limit out of the box. While i dont know too much about the motor, i know all about the potential of a 2.0L engine as i had a 2.0L B18C5 for a few years.. the old saying always applies, theres no replacement for displacement. Its a limited run fan boy car which is why it drew the asking price, its not like its some gem in high demand. Swear people talk around here like you're driving up pikes peak on a daily basis, there is almost no where to utilize the ability that a rally inspired car offers. |
Nissan vq engines have proven to be quite reliable. It's just their CVT that's a friggin nightmare. |
^^what about the oil consumption tho? |

buddies 5.0 mustang saw a 34HP gain from straight pipes and a cone filter that cost like 1/4 of my stupid bolt ons You cant tell me there is room for gains on a 2.0L engine making 280HP FACTORY TUNED, unless your throwing in new turbos etc. its the definition of diminishing returns |

The VW EA888 1.8 and 2.0 are pretty legendary for their chip only gains, but it seems like the Evo X has got decent gains from a reputable tuner. https://www.amsperformance.com/cart/...-stage-1.html/ +60hp, +83hp from chip only Edit: link to APR tunes for Golf Mk VII 1.8T https://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_u..._gen3_mqb.html |

The tune in my link says "60+HP increase by simply plugging into your OBD2 Port!", "You can expect 60+HP gains with this simple yet extremely effective modification! This is an easy, plug and play modification that anyone can quickly install or remove. No wire cutting/splicing or tools of any kind are required." https://www.amsperformance.com/cart/...-stage-1.html/ |
