fack I confirmed with Columbia they had a red abarth an hour before going, I go there the dumb sales who's been there for 2 months took over 30 minutes to tell me it's sold; weak ass shit oldest trick in the scummy stealership book (ya really think im dumb enough to think a car sitting on the lot for 2 years is sold within an hour of my inquiry?! so thanks for reminding me to give em a shit review on Google & stuff)

that said, they have a 6MT fully loaded (recaros) for like 28k OTD; considering they wanted 46K when fresh that's a hella discount

the Aisin slushbox was very responsive
not to mention tuning only the factory turbo unlocks like another 40hp; that's tremendous for a Miata! cheap powah and fun

Probably because these are 2017 MY, which means they were probably stocked as early as late 2016 and thus sitting on lot for ~1.5-2 yrs at this point.

If choosing between ND1 Miata and 124, some reasons to go 124 include that it uses NC transmission (thus no chance of exploding unlike ND1 which has gone through 3 gearbox revisions) and better sound (once an exhaust is put on). The turbo motor is also torquier but the power delivery is sometimes laggy and drops off at high RPM.

Columbia Chrysler... lol... my buddy just bought a truck there and swears he had a great experience, but anyone else I know that's ever gone near that place has had a miserable time.

What's with this "lifetime engine warranty" thing they are putting on their ads too? Sounds scammy...

R1CED` 11-09-2018 12:42 AM

they did alright in that CBC marketplace segment so I thought it would be safe for a look-see, can't even have that!

124 Spyder are pretty cool cars, kinda ugly front (yes im aware of the original), nice ass doe
abarth makes you look like a 5 year old with the coloured mirrors I can see why people wanna get rid of their 500 Abarth after a few years
meh Fiats aren't really viable in North America anyways they're probably gonna pull out so cavet emptor on warranty

...still have no clue why Columbia thought stocking so many roadsters with automatic was a good idea

van_driver 11-09-2018 06:40 AM

slightly off topic but what do you guys do when salespeople at dealerships ask for your info (telephone, where you work, email etc)? They pull out that "guest sheet"

I just give them my cell phone and tell them I don't want to tell them where I work or my email.

They get all offended but they're the ones that call me 5 times a day with useless info.

They ask all this info BEFORE even telling me the best price for their car or anything. This happened at Columbia Chrysler and when I told the guy at Marine Chrysler I don't want to give my number, I just want to know if they have the truck I want, he straight up refused to tell me anything about their inventory.

That’s garbage. When I leased a new German CUV the salesman just gave me his card and told me to call/email if I had any more questions. He pretty much told me where the vehicle I wanted was in the country. I left with him only knowing my first name. For a fucking chyrsler I’d find another dealer, they are a dime a dozen.

Made the mistake of doing this as my friend was the salesperson. Well, he got shit-canned the next week and then the phone calls started.

I don't give out information anymore. I just walk out if they insist on it.

I just leave them my spammy e-mail address
no one has asked for work info until credit check

Liquid_o2 11-09-2018 10:09 AM

Yah I have a separate email address for anything I sign up online that I don't want to sent to my real email.

Is it just me or does this seem too cheap? Is it maybe the sketchy one that was on CL for quite a while? 2016 Focus RS with 22k for $36k

seems to be aligned the usual ford depreciation after 3 years
with oil prices seemingly climbing for the intermediate term, i think the focus will be back faster than we might think
also it's a first model year, probably has the head gasket issues that FoRS has become kinda notorious for

snowfarmer 11-11-2018 10:55 PM

Different wheels than the rebuilt one, and it has the winters (the ad for the rebuilt one didn't mention the extra winter wheels). Ad lists this one as clean title.

not that any of those points are definitive that it's not the sketchy rebuilt one.

Yeah I had a shit experience when trying to buy my first new car (looking at 500 abarth). They were extremely pushy, not friendly, and the price they wanted was like $31k so I turned around and factory ordered a focus ST for like 32,500 the next day

Well yeah, all 2016 and most of 2017 got the order for HG recall even though maybe 10% actually needed it. Best way for them to cover their bases
