The RL that you posted had 280k on it... 100k is a significant mileage difference...

looks like the same car you posted before, I don't know how the mileage got changed anyways.

Man i had a serious rl fetish back in the day. Beautiful looking car for its time, imo. I remember the directional headlights in the commercials. Thought that was so cool.
Tho I've heard electrical issues were common with these cars

jpark 11-18-2018 06:02 PM

the a-spec RL's still look fresh even now

From the ad:

Quote:

Mileage : 181,500 m
Says m not km so it could be miles which equals 292,000 KM. Not unreasonable change assuming it's the same one as posted before. Not a good buy if it's close to 300K km though.

RLs are nice, it's a boat and uses tons of fuel. But what luxo barge doesn't.

Thanks fam... second IS300 Sport Design I’ve picked up off of this thread lol

JDMDreams 11-19-2018 10:26 AM

What do you guys think of rl vs tl manual with sh awd? Those seem to be getting cheaper and you can always paint the grill

If you can find a manual TL SH-AWD, scoop it up. The manual is like all other Honda's: smooth like butter. I've driven one and it is a great luxury cruiser. Add a set of Coilovers and sticky tires and it's no slouch around the corners either despite its weight. The manual is also ~200 lbs lighter than the automatic.

The RL do not come in manual.

flip? maybe he just wants out. might be worth reaching out and saying you wanted it before and see if you can work out a reasonable $ amount

More thread content - not a great deal, but the late 330ci w 6 speed is pretty rare. Not going to say poor man's m3, but pretty sporty. Not much I'd rather have if my budget was 7-8k

I've owned a 2010 TL sh-awd in 6speed and it felt really numb tbh. The steering was extremely light, and did not feel very direct. Other than that, it was really spacious and comfortable, but definitely not "sporty".

330ci owner here.

The price at $7500 is very justifiable, especially at that mileage. It's not a terrible deal.

Defs not a poor man's m3. If you want an M3, just get an M3. My error was in thinking that getting the non-M it would be more reliable/cheaper than the M3 - it's not.

FWIW, the "sports package" indicated in ad is probably steering wheel, sport (leather) seats, and 18" Style 135M wheels. This car has the non-sport front/rear bumper. If you're seriously considering this, I would get the VIN, plug it into bimmer.work and you'll be able to see all the factory packages for that car.

Clutch and cooling done is a good sign. Having mediabridge is a huge bonus too.

For anyone seriously looking to buy an e46 non-m, here's my spreadsheet of ownership costs

Edit: If anyone is considering an e46 330ci/i as a track car, I would look into SpecE46, and be aware that the m54b30 has issues with the oil pump nut shearing/falling off at high RPMs, due to failures in the design of the harmonic balancer and oil pump

The 128i posted back then had a roof rack and sport seats apparently. (Edit: didn't read initially that it has separate roof racks)

Which of these two is a better buy? Which is more reliable?

Looking for a fun DD to replace my Miata, either of these would probably for the bill.

Both pretty similar. The 128i is definitely an evolution of the 330i. Similar size/power/handling. The E46 chassis may feel rawer but with the E82 you'd get a slightly more modern car/creature comforts and comfort access which I feel is a big plus. The N52 I would say is more bulletproof compared to the M54. If you get the 128i though, the E9x M3 control arms are a must do. I put them on my E90 330i and steering feel and directedness was improved drastically.

Easy fix. Tons of BMW motors have this problem, albeit super exaggerated. Drill the nut, or tack weld it.

Safety wire or welding the nut can still fail with the oil pump sprocket shearing off.

For sale 1977 Honda Civic.

Ready for collector plates.
New paint around 8 years ago. Car has always been yellow.
Body has zero rust and has never had any rust repair done from what I can tell which is very rare for a BC car.
Has electronic ignition from a early 1980's Honda. Great upgrade to original points.

I really don’t know much about those, but same owner for 9 years bodes very well for that car. Seems like a steal.
