You think that's bad, look up the stats for a late 70's mid 80's Chevy 305 (5.0L V8)........ 130hp... Low compression, fuel starvation and emissions control killed everything in that era

Those things he mentioned are pretty minor considering I expected issues with the V12. But he did say "call to discuss" so there might be more issues.

Would be sweet to add to a big garage collection! Someone go check it out!

Would be so badass to convert this to manual... :fuckyea:

A guy I know is interested in it, but when I tried to set up a day to go there and look at the car, he never replied. He's trying to sell this at least since January.

Seems like a lot of car for the money

Those MB V12's are brutal. My dad had an '01 S600 and it was the worst car he's ever owned. The $5,000 extended warranty paid for itself after the first 2 visits to the dealer. The other 10 visits were free. HAHA!

xpl0sive 11-10-2014 12:51 PM

^ reason why most if not all of the aftermarket warranty companies will not touch a V12 MB with a 12 foot pole anymore

underscore 11-10-2014 01:37 PM

That Benz has cost $4/km or $15k/yr in depreciation alone. Ouch.

boostfever 11-10-2014 02:03 PM

Always liked that generation of CL-Class.
the 55 AMG models are also cheap in States.

If it doesn't need any serious jobs done at the moment that is a STEAL.

The subframe of the car needs to be reinforced. Owner states there are two small cracks

Feeler: 2001 m3 CB/Cinnamon - E46Fanatics

I liked it when you could post comments on the revscene.net for sale section. Call out people with retarded prices and misinformation. Kinda sucked when you were selling but it's no fun now.

Might seem a bit pricey at first but then you realize how rare these things are + warranty. http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/cto/4756898469.html

ugh i don't mean to come across as a benz hater but a neighbor had (note: had) one of these. he traded his range rover for it and his comment was he did not believe there could be a vehicle less reliable than that range rover, but he was proven wrong by the benz. the longest it stayed with M-B was waiting for a replacement engine was about 2 months which left him driving crappy rental cars for that duration :(

These '63' cars are notorious for engine issues - It is what kept me away from buying one. It seems as if AMG fucked up in a few key areas when developing their first production engine - as opposed to previous AMG engines which were just modified Mercedes engines. One problem is the head bolts can stretch or even snap. The other problem is the cams wear on the lifters due to the soft iron camshafts wearing on the harder steel lifters - adding to this is the engines aren't lubricated properly during cold starts.

2010+ cars as well as all of the SLS AMGs seem to have all of these these issues solved.

I posted this in other threads but since the company checks out, I'll post it here

2002 LEXUS LS430 LOW KMS LOCAL CAR REAL QUALITY VEHICLE

Has 144,000 KM on it but it's the Ultra Luxury Trim. Would I be an idiot to trade in my fairly well modified Holden G8 for this? I miss my V8 :(
