FX35 Bluetooth Question

Maybe someone here can answer this...

Friend of mine has a 2010 FX35, she's got her phone (Google Nexus) paired to the audio system for handsfree operation... it all WORKS, BUT... the voice prompts are annoying verbose and drawn out and you can't do anything else until the stupid thing stops talking. So every time she hits the Dial button, it has to read out the entire list of available commands before it will start listening.

Is there any way to take this thing off "idiot" mode, or at least speed up the readback, or something else so she doesn't waste all day listening to the thing talk? It's worse if it doesn't understand what is said and spends all day rattling off "helpful" comments. Software update maybe?

Quite frankly put, no, there isn't anything she can do.

Believe me I understand how frustrating that must be to be told that your car believes you are so stupid that you can't operate the handsfree without being prompted all of the options.

But trust me on other infiniti specific forums they have been through this, and the end result is always the same; replace your entire head unit with a less idiotic one.

EDIT: Also there are software updates, and FW updates for the nav unit, as well as map package updates which cost $$. But they won't do anything to solve the issue at hand.

Once the voice prompt starts talking press the button again. It should beep and say the command you want. This works on my friends m45 and also on my xterra. Hope it works for you.

Thanks guys! I'll try the button trick... and tell her to get a Jeep next time ;)
