Are you considering an engine rebuild, used engine drop-in, or something else? I remember you looking to get into an e30 or some sort. Perhaps now would be the time to accelerate that plan?

Its at CG but it sounds like bent valves. Terrible compression in cyl 6. Nothing confirmed yet but thats their suspicion. The thing is I don't know how. It was a 6k shift from first to second where the misfire appeared. Car has never been overrevved or overheated, and has 134K. Not sure what the plan is from here. Its going to get fixed, but not sure what extent I'll need to go to fix it. If I can swap an s54 from an e46 m3 in for not a crazy amount more than a rebuilt engine I'll go that route. If I had a garage the car would just sit and I'd buy something else for the time being and I'd putz away at it while attempting to learn, but thats not an option. Fucking fuckity fuck fuck. Cars are stupid.

At least you know it is in good hands. They are a pricey shop but Chris and Rudy know their shit. They worked on my E30 cab back in 2000 and were always fair and transparent with all of their work. I'm certainly curious as to the culprit causing the issue and what is needed for a rebuild. Definitely keep us posted.
Do they have space to store the car for you while you consider your options?
sorry westopher but this hopefully can be "the" enthusiast trackday/autox thread on RS
with that said.. anyone else signed up for the sept 8 TSSxFFD track day at The Ridge? Still a number of spots left. A lot of people originally indicated they'd go but havent paid even after it was announced that deposits were being accepted... I think people did that to add to their online credibility that they track their car.. :
and before anyone adds, here are the standard excuses for people who say they'll go then dont:
"cant get a day off" (date was announced a month ago)
"need to install XXX" (date was announced a month ago)
"i cant win" (true story... and huh?)
