Its a brand new car, other than upgraded fluid I'd just roll with it.

I wouldn't trust any OEM pad short of something like a P car's pads on a road course...

FR-S can't go fast enough or put enough tire to the ground to really worry about it I'd bet. I did a driving school on my OEM pads with PSS and my ride in instructor was saying how "set up" my car felt in the corners. If we were out there driving in the A group pushing hard I'd agree, but I doubt people with our experience level (and sense) are really going to outdrive our brakes. I'm not cowboying it out there, and I doubt MB is going to in his fresh new car.:)
I don't disagree with you that better brakes are always a better thing, but they aren't likely a necessity unless he drives his car 11/10ths like an autocross.

Brakes are overrated. I will take my brakes off to save on unsprung weight and just use engine braking :troll:

Brake fluid is cheap. If budget is really tight, get the Ford HD Dot 3 fluid from CT.
$8 for a bottle and the boiling point is very high, almost Dot 5.1 high.

You will have to get a bolt on roll bar to get the S legal for Mission. Unfortunately, the stock hoops or a hardtop will not suffice now.
