Haha 180 is about my limit currently. I hit 190 coming into turn 1 at Pacific and ruined my drivers seat with poo.
T1 is right after the straight then heads down the hill to the T2 sweeper right? I shit bricks the first time doing it. You come pretty close to the left side wall during the transition and it's pretty much blind due to the downhill.
I hit that fucker at 220 once. Just once. Ha! It's a lift throttle oversteer nightmare corner and not for the faint of heart.
Yup, 3a/b is a blast but a nightmare on brakes. The whole back stretch is like a country road with a cliff on the left. Zero room for error.
Damn it. Why can't my cars be ready. I am soooo itching for another trackday minus the broken motor.

So the other fun thing about this car is people who ask about it, find out it's a V6 and literally laugh, then they hop in their E92 M3 and are forced to point me by about 30 seconds later.
So I had a couple laps of 2:08, how slow is that at the ridge?

2:08 is fast for a first timer with street tires. you are driving on a very good line. couple of things i pick up from the video, that you mite give it a try next time. Don't jump the curb on turn 3. and for turn 12 i would apex early and use the full width of the track

Thanks for the advice! Can't wait to try it that's for sure.
I also can't wait to get off shitty 340 treadware summer tires and onto some sticky rubber. I think with some slightly larger, stickier meats, and a proper seat to keep me from sliding around the car and desperately holding onto the wheel, coupled with more experience on track and I could get near the 2:00 mark...

When you do go for wider stickier meats, make sure the first mod you do is better brakes. Get some better pads, SS lines, and Motul RBF 660 brakefluids.
You'll find the stickier tires will help you carry more speed in the turns, and you can get on the gas sooner which will give you more speed into the next corner.
And of course, some DIY brake ducting won't hurt either.
I'm at work right now, but can't wait to see your video's when I get home.

My brakes are not stock, that's for sure! I would most likely be dead if I had stock brakes lol. Fluid would boil coming off the front brake into T1... Wall... Yikes.
As of right now it's running ATE super blue, Hawk HP+ pads, and new centric rotors.
Plans for next season include the addition of GT500 brembo's, stainless lines, and Boss 302S front brake ducts.

Great pads for street and autoX but you're gonna find them lacking quite a bit for the track.

That straight scares the shit out of me, and i'm just watching it on video. haha
IMO, being a little scared of the straights is a good thing. It is this kind of respect for the track that keeps drivers from flying off the end of the straightaways.
IMO, T1 is not the real scary thing about the Ridge. The more scary parts for me are T2, T8a, T11, and T13. If you screw up at T1, you don't pay for the consequence until you get to T2 where the corner entry speed is way too high to even take the turn. Then you realize your "OH SHXT!" moment has come, you keep your steering wheel straight, and you fly off into the grass.
T8a is also scary for me because I'm coming off the Carousel and going WOT downhill, and the fast line is to aim off course, go deep, and then turn in. It's a test of guts, skills, and control, and I am both thankful and embarrassed to say that even though I have soiled my pants more than a few times at that corner, so far, I have still been slow enough to stay on the pavement while taking the turn.
T11 is almost exactly the same as T8a, except that I am charging WOT uphill instead of down. I can run out of track both on entry and/or on exit.
The changes at T13 have made the track a bit "slower", and the general consensus seems to be adding an extra second or so compared to the old layout. A lot of people I've talked to seem to prefer the old layout, but I personally like the new (and current) layout a bit better. I haven't quite figured out why this is the case, but I found myself having a lot more control going through the current turn compared to the old layout. I've had a few really close calls at the old T13, and it used to be my most scary turn at the Ridge. But I am liking the turn a lot better now.

No worries. People don't like the HP+ for some reason but this was the second track day on the same set of pads, and with 7x 25 minute sessions of hot lapping they did the job just fine. I'll be getting a fresh set for Mission on July 22nd with UBC, and will be going to an XP12 by Carbotech for next year, but for now, I like 'em!
